JCW interior package question

Does anyone else have an issue with the configurator automatically adding the pepper white dash when they order the JCW interior package? I went to my build and it doesn't show what color the dash is. Maybe ill just wait and be surprised when i get delivery as I think the pepper white and the black checker both look good. Does anyone have pics to share of wither dash in their R59?

I asked my MA about this too, as I definitely didn't want the Pepper White dash. She said that if you substitute the Checkered Dash for the Pepper White dash, it won't show on the build, as the Checkered Dash is standard. That's what she told me, but if something else shows up, we are negotiating for the Carbon Fibre dash at no charge.

Order the JCW dash anyway. The leather topper and alcantara dash really upgrade the appearance of the typical cheap mini plastic dashes.

How difficult is it to change the speedo color? I didn't have the option (or i missed it) to do black gauges and I would have liked them.

That's part of the factory JCW dash. if you find how that would work, I'd be interested too.

I talked to my MA and he said that you might be able to get it installed at the VDC but that means more waiting time before you motor with your new baby. I cant take that risk since im hoping that all goes well and i get a boat over here in time to break it in and go to the Dragon. I think most of us on here are handy enough with tools that we could do it ourselves with a few hours work and a couple swear words thrown in for good measure. That will be one of my first mods after the dragon considering I have an ALTA sway bar sitting in my garage and the car has yet to be built lol.

If they can, indeed install this at the VDC center, it would be only one day delay, not much at all. It's not like it would take a week or more. And, if you find that they can do this at the VDC center, let me know so I can have this done.

I have no issues with the Configurator. I think Piano Black with Chili (or Rooster) Red and Chrome Lined Instruments makes for a hot look.

Yeah, I LOVE the dark speedo background of the JCW... That alone makes me want to spend the extra $8,000.00, lol. Just don't tell my wife.

With my configuration, the factory would have been only $5000 more. I think that I'll
do some mods and be happy with what I've got. The o my real things that ill miss are the brakes and exhaust found, and they high can be added.

The speedo color can be changed. Out Motoring has the speedo and tach in many colors. I got the black. When I ordered my roadster I got the JCW packages. But will add wheels, suspension and things like speedo color. And in the end I'll only spend alittle more then if I got the factory JCW. Between the Akrapovic exhaust and KW coilovers that adds about $6,000 to the car alone.

I'd really like to do the dash color, can't stand the white, but it looks like it could be a really messy job. And, if not done properly, well a waste. I looked on the Out Motoring site and they have these listed for the standard gauges, but don't show for the Mini Connect center gauges. I'm going to do to my r59, a lot like you in yours on the JCW or better changes. I'm going with an after market exhaust, like to do brakes, and then an ECU upgrade. Got the Helix intercooler on order, BSH catch can for N18's. The intake is going to look stock, but got some guts/filer from DoS. Got the stud conversion bolts and nuts from Outmotoring. Just HATE changing wheels with those wheel bolts. That's about all that I can think of for now. But, I'd really like the JCW gray dash color. Later.
