ASKMINI finally caught up. Lil Ragtop is on the train, he says, and on his way to the dock at Southampton. So, Marron and he will start the party soon. I hope that they wait until they get on ship, as I saw a video of them loading the cars onto the ships. No wonder they have several miles on them when they arrive at the dealership. Now, here we go, again.

Hemi... Where did you find the videos?

 

All I did was Google Mini Production videos/U-tube. There's quite a few of them there, from 1st Generation, to about two years ago. Nothing on the Countryman that I could see. They did mention the Clubman, but again, nothing about the coupes or roadsters. Very interesting, I watched several the other night for about two hours. Some were repeats, but hey, it's a Mini! Hope this helps.

Out Motoring carries both headlight rings and those for the tail lights. They are suppose to be available thru MiniParts, but I haven't seen them.

I called ask-mini and spoke to a real person and they told me it was in the paint shop as of this morning. Then this afternoon, my MA caught up with me via e-mail and sent me a print of his screen showing in the paint shop and due to finish on 3/6/2013. There was a ship leaving for CA on the 5th that I won't make, then the next one is the 12th, then the 26th. Wonder which one I'll make?

 

I updated my signature and then I lost it. Just trying it out to see if it posts.

 

I have black headlights and wheels? Not sure about taillight rings... So probably not..

Andy ... Will look very similar to your roadster ... More black, though.., I think the interior has more black highlights with the toffee leather.

Think I solved my cat issue... Talking with my MA, trying to figure out how to protect my ragtop from my cats if they get into the garage ( they will)... We thought of a section of canvas , but , a better idea might just be a cheap comforter....

 

Get a car cover. I got one for my present Mini, and am going to keep it, even though it is for my hatch. So it's a little fluffy in the middle. That'll give the darn neighbors cats a place to sleep. Our cats are in house guys.

I need to find out how to post pictures too. Also find the guy that did the drawing of my JCW. I lost his address, but someone here probably knows. But, the car cover I think is the best idea. I got mine off the market place and a rediculously low price.

The description and pictures are in the signature. Are you on a computer or iPad? let me know and I will try and point you in right direction.

 

I do all of my postings from my iphone... But, I guess I will use my Apple laptop computer to do tge signature stuff... So, I would appreciate some starter suggestions ...
I assume that one can always change / edit their signature...

 

On iphone, go over to more on the bottom right and tap. Select forum posting options, set attachment type to small, quality to tiny and turn signature on. Add your text into the line below that. I have noticed doing it there that it sometimes attaches and some times not. You have to turn it off and on.

Try that and I will look at how I did it on my computer (more options) and let you know later.

 

On the laptop:

Go to www.northamericanmotoring.com
On main screen - second column is "Your Control Panel"
Go down to "Settings and Options"
Go to "Edit Signature"
Type in signature you want
Add picture in section below. (May need to resize it - will only upload a certain size.)

 

On the iPhone after more you select settings and then forum posting options. I missed one step there. Sorry!

For some reason , I'm having difficulty finding posting options, settings, etc. I have a million icons , though, which are so small I can't read them... So I think it best for me to use my computer when I do this procedure ...

 

Body shop yesterday 3/4, paint shop today3/5... Est production date 3/7

 

Now I'm finding out that our Lil Ragtop was actually born on March 2nd, and is now enroute to the dock. Anyway, it was Dispatched to the terminal. Still going forward.

ASKMINI confirmed that Marron has made it to Southampton

 

I'm pretty sure that they rode down together. The last info I had was that our Lil Ragtop had Ben dispatched. Our guys are kind of like twins, same birth date and all.

Bill, looks like the next WW boat that hits baltimore and brunswick will be the Courage that leaves Southampton on the 13th. Not sure if MINI doubles up on boats so they can make one big east coast trip. If so our boys will be riding together. If they go on separate ships and we are on the WW line then you could be on Tirranna on the 11th headed to baltimore and my next boat is on the 9th with Integrity or the 11th with Boheme.

 

My "Matilda" due date = 7.... If this happens , she may be on the boat with your guys!!!!!!!

 

My MA told me that the boat ride takes 10 days... Once in Jersey things will move fast, just a matter of a few days , and will be able to predict delivery accurately ...
So I have a shot at getting my roadster before April... Hope so , my car inspection is in March.., I don't want to pay for inspection , get sticker, and then turn the car over in a matter of days...
