R59 I'm in!!! Ordered a roadster today...
Just ordered my Kite Blue S with JCW interior and exterior, black lamps, and MINI Connected. Prod number still shows 'on order'. This is MINI number two for me and no. 4 for the whole family.
ChftyGuy: Congrats, me on Friday. I almost went with your color, but in the end with Pepper White Looks like we went for very similar options. I haven't checked on where mine is in the system, I thought that I'd wait until about Wednesday and take a look. My MA says that it won't take long to get into production. I don't know what that means.
On looking your car up, can you remind me on how that is done? You go to the Mini Lounge, is that right?

ol.miniusa.com and register, since it was my second MINI i had to choose a new username since all of my other info was still linked to my R56 on the old account.
There's a bunch of good info on tracking the car in the 1st Gear section here. I learned more about shipping than I could have ever imagined possible while I was following my car!
i think waiting for this car is more painful than the first one just because i didnt know what I was missing out on. Ive been driving a 99 z28 camaro since i gave my dad my R56 and im dying here!!
I finally figured out my production number. We live in this world of abbreviations now.
Same with me too, I'll have to change username and password too. I'm finding this a bit more interesting than the first time too. Still, I can't imagine buying, just fight off the lot. You miss all this fun. My opinion of course.

Production number is what you need to track since your newborn hasn't been given a social security number yet.
I got my production number from my sales person in less than 7 days. The Mini Lounge is really not very useful. It seems to get updated once a week. My sales person emailed me and called me with key information well before the Mini Lounge was updated.

My other car hit that all just right. It finished production on a Thursday, made the Friday morning train, the. Wad loaded on the boat on Saturday. Couldn't get much faster than that. I figure that this one will more than likely take a week on both, or more.
Talked to Maria today about Red stripes rather than Black. I really don't like the black on Pepper White. She says no problem. I'm happy.

Some random questions:
1) ordered last Wed, should get a production number this week, then I can track?
2) how long in production on average?
3) are all the toggle switches ( top / bottom) lit for night viewing ?
4) cleaning the rag top: will just power wash ( soap / rinse ) suffice?

3) Console LEDs light the toggle switches
4) Yes, but you should treat the top every 6 months or so. Here is a great website for videos and info on proper cleaning, waxing, and polishing techniques for everything about auto detailing.

Here is another question: I got a free detailing for Christmas.... When should I use it on my new car when it comes in six weeks.. .. Early on, or wait to the fall just before the winter months???
As I am utterly, hopelessly, and admittedly **** and OCMD when it comes to my MINI's finish, I can count on one hand (and no thumb) the number of people besides me who I would trust to even touch it.
Hopefully your new Roadster won't require a whole lot of corrective intervention. I'd be tempted to redeem it in the fall.

In my case, I even drove by the VDC in Baltimore during a business trip to the east coast on the very day the ship moored to see if I could get an early peek at my new acquisition. I love the tracking process.
Got it stashed in my gallery if interested. I've posted many times in This Thread but sadly it has degenerated as of late.
Back on topic, hopefully you and hemi will have your numbers soon. Shouldn't take much more than a week. I wonder if your MA may find out prior to the info being available via the Ask MINI number...
