Steve,
Same here! My Michelin ICE on my Challenge wheel work great, so long as I stay out of the deepest snow. That front end tends to become a snow is.

Hey-hey-hey. Finally, the Lil Ragtop was officially in the body shop yesterday, no mention on ASKMINI. Today he is in the Paint Shop. ASKMINI says that he will be finished on March 4th. Going to be tough, unless the timing is perfect for the rail to Southampton, then catch the first ship out of port, to have it being delivered on Easter weekend. We'll see. Anyway, I feel a lot better about its reality now.

Bill,

Where did you get this info? Askmini still says mine is due out 3/5 but can't tell me where it is in the process?

Thanks

I just called ASKMINI and talked with a real person and she gave me the information. I can't verify this, but I think that they were holding up USA Roadsters for Spring delivery, and run a bunch thru at once. Something like they use to do with JCW cars. Maybe still do.

Just think on the bright side: "Back of the line" means a newer MINI than everyone else.
It will happen.

Ok, need some help here. I've deleted the stripes on my JCW styled r59 roadster. I'm looking for come Viper style stripes, maybe a little like original, but different. Thus means custom stripes. Can anyone guide me in the right direction to find something interesting? Chili Red is the base color with a outline of black.

Good luck finding a graphics company for custom stripes. Have placed orders with companies both here in the U.S. & U.K. since last April and no luck the worst was the treatment from minimotoringgraphics.com they actually told me that my design would look like crap and that it would be to expensive for me. I explained to them it's my car I paid for it in cash and I'll put what I want on it. Placed orders with minigraphicsuk.org and both times was given refund as product was never received.

Honestly though if you find a good place let me know

If you remember, a couple of days ago I mentioned. that with several of us, supposedly having roadsters in production, but nothing else, that it could just be that Mini is holding production on them so that they could do several for the USA at one time, for the beginning of Spring. Well, we know of what, four or five of us that have end of production in this first week of March, I just might have been right here. Or, a good guess. Makes sense to me anyway. Well, whatever the deal is, we are all going to have one great week long party on our cruise across the Atlantic.

Hemisedan,

I think you are right. If so they are all on their way down the line!

In one of my boring, let's check in and see what U-Tube has on Mini's moments. I heard that Mini puts together up to 100 or so cars of a certain type, and even up to 500 of the hatch when they know that a lot of orders will be coming in. That way they are free just to run them thru the line. Hence: goes to paint in white on Feb 27 and finishes production six days later, instead of the usual nine days. Having them pre-built should save a couple of days. Now, if my Lil Ragtop can just reach the end on March 4th. Do they work over the week ends? I kind of think that they do, but have never heard one way or the other. Hurry up you Ragtop Bunch.

Think we found what will work with House of Graphix. They're on eBay with lots of designs. Chili Red in two six inch stripes with one 1/2" stripe on each side. Down to the bumpers, in a Viper design.. Should work well, I think.

Is it crazy that I was laying in bed last night thinking to myself how awesome it would be to watch them come down the assembly line and then the REAL questions started popping into my head. Does the factory smell like "new car"? Do they work 24/7?

Should be a great trip over, any of you guys going to the Dragon to break them in properly? After all, isn't the dragon like a 'coming of age' test for the little guy?

Before I came up with the bright idea to go for a 2013 roadster, I had thought about trying to coordinate a trip to England and schedule a factory visit to possibly see my r59 be made. Timing now isn't right, but it would be interesting. Actually, just going there to watch or follow a specific car go thru the process.

Then go down the road to the Morgan Car Factory, and watch how they still make/build their cars by hand. Still like they did back in time, with a wood body framing. Like to see one of those in a crash test required by the USA. But talk about a absolutely beautiful car, that those Morgans are, even still have V8's and rear wheel drive.

There will be a lot of Texas Mini's on the 2013 Dragon Drive including at least one Roadster S (Lia & Jim). This looks like an amazing event and I really considered going but decided to drive the Oregon and Northern California coast summer instead. Enjoy!

OOps #2 Just checked on the OLmini, which is always late, right? Well, they have just advanced Lil Ragtop to awaiting transportation. Now, how about that?

Isn't this absolutely rediculous, grown adults getting this wrapped up in a car, something for normal transportation, and we go crazy about building and then getting it here so that we can pour $4.00+ gasoline into the fuel tank. Isn't that like burning money? Oh well, cars are a very large part of my life, from Lil Roadsters to 38 Ford hemi powered hotrods. Oh well.

I live in Orlando and work for the mouse. I always end up working that weekend so my parents drive their clubman down and they take my car for the weekend so they both have a MINI to drive. This is my fourth dragon trip it never gets old.

ALSO!! I'm awaiting transport as of this morning. We've had it good up until it gets on the boat. Then we are at mercy with the ships updates. Or lack thereof.
