Jonack, I think that we all have a very good shot at that Easter Weekend delivery. And, you know how ALL sales people want that end of the month sale/delivery. That's why they are so fast in getting them set up. Last time with my JCW, it was 8 days from Southampton to Baltimore POA. I screamed as it wasted an entire day in New York, but I guess those guys deserved their new Mini's too.

It depends on the ship/boat. Some of the new ships are quite a bit faster than the old ones, by more than three miles per hour, or whatever they measure the speed in the oceans. Over the period of a week or more, that adds up.

Anyway, our guys will be partying.

Bill

When I tracked my mini roadster the computer was accurate to the day. As far as when the boat would arrive at port etc. My dealer had it to me within hours of getting it. It was actually the first mini roadster delivered in North America for 2013. It couldn't of gone smoother, except that they held them at port for a week or two before releasing the new year model.

There is an app called NAMotoring. If you do not have it go to the App Store and search for it. Then in the app -lower right you will see the more button very easily. Hope this helps!

Have you had any success on the laptop?

Also I am very jealous of you guys! My roadster finished today but it takes at least 21 days to get to California and the next boat is not leaving until the 12th. Then I have a week to dealer and a few days of accessories. I am still looking at at least a month to a month and a half!

Thanks , mb... You have been very helpful ... I've been promoted to another NAM app... Resisted the change... Will do ... I will wait for my roadster, take a pic , and then work it into my signature statement ... Probably will need your help at that time... California? You have Texas on your site?

Sounds good! Texas is a large state and the closest mini dealer is at least 6 hours away in the state or I would have to go to Colorado or Oklahoma. I have relatives who own minis in Colorado so I ordered from there, so California here we come.

Ok. I remember that I was able to get current overhead pictures of the Southampton docks where our Minis are parked awaiting loading onto the ships, a few years ago. Does anyone know where to get this site? Thanks

Bill

If they go on separate ships and we are on the WW line then you could be on Tirranna on the 11th headed to baltimore and my next boat is on the 9th with Integrity or the 11th with Boheme.
The Tirranna is suppose to leave March 11th, and arrive in Baltimore on March 20th. That would be great, but who knows. There seems to be several ship leaving Southampton, but right now I am having difficulty locating them. Also, I'm trying to find the SAT photo's that are very recent, like in the last day or so. Back in 2010 I was able to find these, along with the ship when it came to the dock, then followed it out of the channel.

I was able to confirm that Lil Guy ll is indeed down at the dock, but nothing about being able to sneak onto a ship yet. Getting anxious now, and I have to realize that I won't see him for another 24 days at the earliest. Red stripes and all. Maybe I should just quit trying to find out when and where he is or will be and just be a hermit for those three week.

Also, am I understanding you correctly, you had visuals of your car and the ship it was being loaded on to ???

Back in 2010 when I ordered the JCW, yes, we had the ship docked and saw cars driving onto the ship. Really neat. From what I see of the ships coming in, I've got three ships that would put into port early enough to get it to Chicago in time for a March 30th delivery. I still I have a shot at the Tirranna. That's a 9 day ship, and the next ship is a 13 day ship which would get it into Baltimore on March 25th. Oh well, who knows. So we get it the next week, after the Easter week snow storm. Joke there.

It would be really cool to get the visuals of our ship / roadsters....
I go from Jersey to NH... If I'm on the same ship, I might have a better shot for March.. Wishful thinking...

Just put Southampton on my weather watch on my iPhone. Hey, guess what? OUr guys are getting their first official wash job. Looks like rain today, cloudy tomorrow then rain for the rest of the weekend. Hope they put some water repellent on those tops for us. No new news, just waiting at the port.

Also, I have two NAM sites... On the most recent site, I do not see the pics and signature information. On the old site this info is at the bottom of the posting..

Yes. When I get back home, I'll get you the name of the place and what I got. We have cloth tops, and it makes a difference needs something different than the vinyl top cars. Have to make sure you treat the threaded areas as ragtops can have problems there in time.

Cloth Top Care

Jonack,
This is what I purchased from Auto Geek.net. They carry not only convertible/roadster cloth and fabric car products, but also complete auto car products. Videos, and such. I purchased the Fabric Guard and Cleaner in pump spray for cloth tops, also the brush and two cleaning towels for the windows and paint in case of over spray.

303 High Tech Fabric Guard & Cleaner Combo

On a side note, they are very fast in shipping, located in Florida, so they should know something about top fading, and such. I have nothing to do with this company, except that I bought there products. Do what you want, but I am going to use the Fabric protector immediately after I get Raggi home. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Bill... I assume that you do all if your own detailing ? Is the fabric protector the repellent ?
On a side : How are the winters in Iowa?
Drove through Iowa one summer... Thought it was pretty ... Lots of pig farms ... Stayed overnight in Stewart (?), Iowa

I do some of my detailing, well most if what gets done. Auto Geeks came highly recommended, and I'll be getting more products from them in the future: clay bar, polishes, cleaners and waxes. Now, back to work so that I can maybe pay fory indulgences.

Yes, the fabric protector is the water repellent. Use the cleaner when it gets dirty, bird droppings and the like. Yes, Iowa winters can be tough, but not like Chicago as well as the northeast got it thus year. Also, my Lil Raggi will be a year found car for transportation, as well as for fun. That's what cars are for, drivi g and having fun. We are just lucky that we will be able to pit the top down, without a hack saw

To be honest , I never waxed my BMW... I had it detailed twice a year.... I would take it to the car wash and just power wash it...
I will give the auto geeks a call and discuss my new baby... I think I might have to develop better cleaning habits...

I have heard that a lot of folks use Prima products for car care. What brand does Auto Geeks carry? Or is it their own brand?

Thanks.
