R59 I'm in!!! Ordered a roadster today...
No more news as to where the Tirranna is. Going to have to have a talk with that 1st Mate about his reporting in. People are depending on him for weather conditions in the Atlantic.
Any more news from you guys on your cars on getting shipped? MB2020. ChefTyguy, Jonack?

Bill, Im almost certain i am on the Athens Highway. My MA says the car is still in Southampton yet ASKMINI shows me as en route and the customer relations people (two of them) have both said that its left the port. I guess the K line reporting really is that bad.

According to MA, still waiting at port...
Think I figured out how to insert signature ... Will see when I post this... Also . Inserted a photo of Matilda (cat) so you can see why my roadster will assume the same name : both white, black, orange, independent , and very feisty ... I will insert photo of my roadster when it arrives... I must figure out how to post regular photos ... I want the name of my boat... Maybe some of you are going to track it...

The Android app doesn't show signatures at all. If I got to the site with Chrome then by default I get m.northamericanmotoring.com which doesn't show signatures. Maybe Safari on the iPhone does this too. In Chrome I can request the desktop site and that gets me a sideways cat picture.
I prefer the older app ( NAM Mini Cooper )... I can see the signatures with photos and photo attachments ( I have to learn how to attach photos)... I constructed my signature with this site...
The new app ( NAMotoring) is easier to get into... And, through settings, I am able to see signature statements, but no photos at all ... Can't figure it out...
Best,
JoNack

...but note that once it leaves the Channel you'll have to go here:

Gary,
Still nothing on the Sailwx.info/shiptrack yet. We're sitting on about 70 hours out of the English Channel now. Although it's not all that important, it would be nice to know that it is on schedule, and not sunk by one of those Atlantic storms. Hey, maybe it hit an iceburg, or the remnence of one of those Winter storms from the last couple of weeks when they went into the Atlantic.
I'm just talking, it'll be in American waters in a couple of days and then this will be close to over.

No, we'd know about that.

Hey guys, can you believe this, Owners Lounge FINALLY acknowledged that my Lil Raggi is in transit. Something else is rather interesting in my history. First of all, I'm a bit older than the average Mini enthusiast. And, that just about all of my special cars have been odd year cars. Here we have the 2013 roadster, the JCW is an early 2011, then we go back to the Miata, 2007, 2005 Mazda 6, then we have to go back to my 1995 Mazda 6, then it was 1991 Plymouth Lazer, (by the way, that was a fun car) Then we have to go back thru my company car days to 1969 Plymouth Road Runner, used before that was a 1969 Dodge Charger 500 4440 six pak, 1967 GTX 440, then 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 426.
Never thought of it this way, but that's a lot of cars. Several I wish that I still had, like the 69 Charger 500.
With my hotrods, it's been the opposite. 32 Ford 5 window Coupe, then 34 Ford sedan, 38 ****** sedan, turned into a tudor, then another 32 coupe, actually finished that one and my daughter still owns it. She got it in the divorce. And lastly, my current project, a 1938 Ford tudor standard sedan, hemi power.
Guess you can tell I have an affection to cars, and not the normal cars. About the only normal cars would be the two Mazda 6 cars. But, they were a good car for that time. Just thought I'd share some of this history, don't know why, just this is me.

Gary, I just opened up that attachment. You're terrible to send such a picture to someone that has a precious cargo on a ship, don't you know? Just kidding, but it would make you sick to have to start all over again. Still think that I'd order the same options, maybe add NAV, but that would be about it.
Hey Hemi,
I thought that I was the older one in the group, but with your list of cars and the years, we , I believe , might be close in age... I had a Plymouth Road Runner, too... I will be 65 in July...
I am disappointed in the Mini Website and tge tracking, in general ... I tracked my bimmer with BMW... It had every step, and on the money... The owners lounge had me in production one week after the car was complete ... It has me going to port, now...
Best,
JoNack
PS: you must remember the MGB, and the other older English roadsters, the precursors for our Mini roadster ...

I would suspect you are in port waiting for a ship. Have you figured out which ship you will most likely be sailing on?
[quote=hemisedan;3699591]
Like I said before, I personally have never been able to track my mini's all the way across the ocean.
In my case, communication stopped as the ship was leaving the English channel, then it popped up again near the Panama Canal. Disappeared after passing through the canal, then showed up again near LA port.
I have also never heard of anyone in this group being able to track their minis all the way across the ocean except for gil-galad. He must have gotten an exception ship or they have changed the way that they now report.

Oh I do remember those British roadsters. Do you remember the Morgan? A friend of my fathers had a 54 Morgan roadster, then a neighbor while I was in high school had a Triumh TR-3. I wasn't enamored with that car, I always thought it was ugly. I did like the TR-4's, however. Then there was the Blue Hawaii Movie with the MGA roadster that Elvis drove. I've had a couple of friends that had MGB's, even putting in the Buick/Rover 215 ci in it. Nice combo. For me? I always wanted a MG-TF and had a love affair with the MG-TC. Only ever saw one of those in the flesh, of course all the TC's were right hand drive. I can't imagine shifting left handed. The other, actually I almost bought one of these was a 54 Porsche Speedster. My mom vetoed it.
I am going to enjoy this roadster that's on the Tirranna coming to America. Granted, it so much of a higher standard from the cars I've just mentioned. Performance, both handling and speed are so much more in these cars, they have the performance that we only dreamed of back in the 60's, 70's and early 80's. Those cars were lucky to do 0 - 60 in 10 seconds, let alone in the 6's. Enough rambling.

And I thought I was the old guy. I'll be 58 in August...
I have had so many cars I've lost count. At one point I was getting a car every 6 months..
I guess on the top of my list where.
68 Chevelle, 72 Mustang Mach 1, 78 Subaru 4wheel drive wagon, 2002 Miata LS, 2005 Jeep Rubicon, 2007 Miata Grand Touring PRHT,
The ones that got away 75 Datsun 280Z, the MGB GT and the first year the new Boss Mustang came out. Never had a chance to buy a 69 Charger...
All time in my dreams - 65 Shelby Cobra and the 68 Mustang Cobra..
Oh yea, when I was around 15 or so I helped a friend restore a bunch of Sunbeam Alpines. I guess that's where my love affair for roadsters started..
WOW I'd be rich if I didn't mod all of them.......
I almost kept the Prius and bought something like an MGB to work on until my wife said new roof on the garage first, yea right, another dream gone....
Lets see what I can do with the MINI.......

You're just a young whipper snapper, as my grandfather use to say. Now I just call it, I've got more experience. The Shelby cars: I remember test driving a 427 Cobra once. To about scary, that cotton pick'n thing was uncontrollable at 90 mph in fourth gear when you floored it. I preferred the 289 version much better, but a auity build was not in Carroll's language. Go fast, or faster yet.
My favorite? Being a Mopar guy, the Grand-Spaulding Mr. Norm 440 Dart from1968 would probably get my vote, or a 440 Cuda pre 1970.
Enough remembering, time to get back to the Mini's on their way here. Where are they?0

Good job keeping it real
