New 2013 MINI Roadster on order!

I'm super stoked that I am getting my 2nd MINI and this one is the 2013 Roadster. (I still own a 2004 Pepper White w/ Black Stripes & Roof Cooper) It's black with silver stripes and I got the chrome exterior package. I ordered it on 9/17/12 and was listed as in production on 9/23/12. I am so anxious for it to arrive.... I am hoping it will be here before Thanksgiving.

How long from ordering to driving off the dealer lot did you other Roadsters have to wait?

-JOHN

I ordered mine in April and it was delivered in August. Mine was in the very first batch of 2013s released from the VDC.

JMorganJr,

Welcome and Congrats!
I'm in the same boat (pun intended) with Jacksongls.
I think their is some backup with shipping since the August mini factory shut down. But they are slowly catching up or I sure hope so.

There was a factory shutdown? That's a bummer how long of a delay do you expect? I called ask mini and they told me my car would be ready or at least built by October 2. I don't know how long it will take for it to ship overseas to San Diego.

Congrats on the order John. It will be here before you know it. I was driving mine 5 1/2 weeks after I ordered it.

Thanks! I hope my new MINI gets here that fast. I'm so excited. Fortunately, I still have my 04 Cooper to drive in the meantime !

The Oxford plant shuts down for two weeks in August for vacation time.

Ahhh, cool. I never knew that. I was surprised to hear that the car would be built just 15 days after I ordered it - so fingers crossed that transport is that quick!

That's actually pretty legit. Good worker moral will keep the cars quality up

I agree. Nothing wrong with some vacation time. Just wish my MA would have said something about it. If he even knows. But in all fairness he did tell me 6-8 weeks from when I ordered. It is looking closer to 8weeks for me.

My MA told me 8-10 weeks! I am thinking I'm ahead of schedule since my car was ordered Sept 17 and was told by ASK MINI yesterday that my car was in the body shop and would be completed on Oct 2. I hope it gets on a boat ASAP! I'm so anxious.

My 2013 Roadster 'Aria' HAS ARRIVED!

My custom built 2013 MINI Roadster 'Aria' arrived in San Diego on November 2nd! I spent the entire weekend driving 'topless' as its been in the high 80's all weekend! I love this ride, and it drives so much differently than my 2004 MINI Cooper Hardtop. Its so much fun!
