Meet Pippa, Our New Roadster S

She went into production May 7th, jumped aboard the Faust at Southhampton Docks two weeks later and disembarked Port Hueneme June 12th. Wife and I picked her up last night. She's just incredible - looks sweeter than we imagined, and drives like a dream!

Here's a few pics of our favorite Brit.

Thanks - still can't believe it when I open my garage door and there she is! So glad the wife talked me into getting a Roadster . . .

Very nice. A couple coats of Zaino on that and that color will shine like crazy.

I like the seats too, they look great on this car, bit too light-coloured for me, I'd never keep them clean!

She is lovely! I also have a Roadster S named Pippa waiting for her ride, albeit she is not quite a fancy but am sure just as sassy.

Wow... Beautiful! I love the seats too. We had black seats in our VW Cab and OMG! Would they get hot! You'll love the white. They need some leather love to stay nice so you'll be able to keep them clean.

Have fun! Safe travels,

Franny

Thanks for the suggestion! Looked it up and looks like great stuff. Will have to order online. Do you use all the products in that line, or just a couple? Wondering if it is worth getting the kits vs individual products.

HA! I really love your choice of names! How coincidental! My daughter suggested it a few months back when we were first were planning to order and it made it to the top of list of our favorite potentials. We narrowed it down to 2 and waited till we finally saw and drove our gal to see which fit best and Pippa was the definitive winner. Looking forward to seeing your Pippa next month. The red is a great color and should fit her well!

Thanks Franny!
The hot black seats were exactly the reason for our light color choice. In Southern California we are gifted with many topless days and didn't want permanent burn marks on our backsides! The trade off is struggling to keep the seats clean. But when we saw the soda seats in the online MINI model build we thought we might have to have them. Then seeing them on the showroom floor in a countryman made our decision. We couldn't be happier with the outcome and for us the soda seats and light leather accents give the car have a nice balance of class and fun.

I'll have to agree with you on that, but if they are kept clean....

It does seem perfect doesn't it? I was stuck between Pippa and Nigel based on if it was a boy or girl - after calling her "She" enough I determined Pippa was the way to go. Nigel would have been a great name for the BRG JCW Roadster in the dealership. What was the other name you had picked out? At one point I actually debated about changing from red to eclipse gray but realized that living in Seattle, I see enough gray as it is so I stuck with my initial choice.

Hope you are have a great time with your Pippa!

Hey, Nigel is a great choice too. We came to the same conclusion. I really loved Earl, especially it being a gray car and all, but we just could not see our Roadster as a boy. The other name at the end was Beatrix - though we debated what her nickname would be: Bea, Bebie, Bixie. Beatrix is great, but it just didn't seem to fit her quite as well.

Yeah, I understand your choice for the Pacific North West. A warm, bright and sporty color is just the antidote for a foggy gray marine layer!

Looking forward to seeing your first pics of Pippa in July!

Thank you!!!

Pippa is simply beautiful! I am awaiting a 2013 and it is eclipse gray just like yours. I look at Pippa and it has been enough to hold me from wanting to call mini yet again just to hear in assembly again Estimated completion July 9th :( .

I have been going to my dealer and driving a 2012 roadster every weekend. They call me a frequent flyer and have limited my test drives to 20 minutes. I just need my weekly fix. I think they are going to call an intervention soon.
