Steering Wheel

Anyone else hate the stock steering wheel on their Roadster?

I hop from my daughter's 135i with the M Leather Steering Wheel (smooth/supple) to the Roadster (coarse/hard) and it drives me crazy.

Shopping for a JCW leather or leather/alcantara but don't think they make one for an automatic with paddle shifters yet.

I like mine. It might be the red stitching from the JCW pack though...

Do you have the JCW leather steering wheel? Unfortunately they don't have one for the automatic yet. Since the 2013s will have a JCW automatic I should be able to get one in the not too distant future.

I got the "JCW Pack" which had the bodykit, the electronic diff, a gearshift know with red lettering and H pattern, red stitched gear lever and handbrake boots, and a leather steering wheel with red stitching. Whether it's a JCW I couldn't say.

I thought it was only me. Maybe Mini got in a particularly rough batch of steering wheels the week our cars were built.

Interesting. I have the JCW Pack also but no red stitching on anything and the rough steering wheel.

Have they ever made a replacement/JCW wheel for the automatic? I was under the impression they didn't exist...

I can find a replacement stock wheel on realoem.com but no JCW wheel that I know of is for the automatic.

If you have the auto tranny with paddle shifts, it the JCW steering wheel cannot be fitted without modifications.
If no paddle shifts, it's a straight swap.

I got this too. I asked when I ordered to do black stitching and I was told it was not possible. It looks a little awkward with toffee int, but had to have the body kit. I think I will eventually get the cravenspeed shifter mod to remove the shifter boot, but the wheel I guess will stay.

As for the wheel feel, i like that it is a harder material thinking is will not show wear as much.
