Great looking car Mr. T, I love the seats with the accent trim. Very good combo. Looks like we both ended up picking up our Roadster's on the same day. Made for a very good weekend didn't it!!!

Mr. Bee, where did you get the Roadster side graphic?

Roadster side graphic

We wanted something unique for our Roadster so I designed the logo on the side stripe myself. I wanted something with the word Roadster in it. I did the design in Adobe InDesign and took it to a local auto graphics guy and he cut it out and installed for me before we picked the car up last Friday. Of course the basic stripe is the same as the factory stripe but the layout is a little different. He used a 7 year vinyl so it should hold up good.

Looks very nice, speaking of which, Lil Raggi is in need if a good wash job now, too. But, it keeps raini g every third day or do.

Some of my responses never show up. Same for MotorFile. Guess some people don't like me....now how could that be?

Love the graphic, very retro yet modern. I was considering doing something like this to mine but I feel it might be too much. Of course, it would say "Roadster" or "R59" or something like that.

Thanks, I know. I was saying I like the design if it said roadster or R59. I just cant decide if it would be too much on my car. Who makes it? MINI doesn't, maybe they can modify the design.

If you look at Mr. Bee's post above that should give you an idea...the stripes I've seen on EBAY & House of Grafx...but your local auto graphics can do a custom lettering for you and put it on.

It isn't to much on your R59...if you envision it...stick with it.

How about a 3M Carbon Fiber JCW Stripe on the side with the Roadster or R59 cut into it?

My local MINI graphics guy can download any lettering and stripe design. He also custom designs all kinds of graphics. My black widows were designed by him, and I will be getting my custom side striping in a couple weeks.

I think I am just gonna let it ride the way it is for now. I do have a crazy idea that will change the whole look of the car but I just bought it so I don't think I want to mess with it just yet. Thanks for all the advice.

Lot’s of cool cars here so we had to share our story. My wife and I had a ’73 Triumph Spitfire for a few years. She was fun to drive but always needed work and wasn’t very safe by today’s standards. Last year we sold the Spit and placed an order for a new Type-S Roadster. As you can see both cards are British, are blue with grey stripes and have a Union Jack on the left fender. The similarities end there as the Mini is much faster, gets better mileage and can be taken on any kind of trip without worry!

Very cool!, I love that you stuck with the same color scheme as your spitfire - way to stay true to the heritage!

Years ago I had a '63 A/H Sprite then a '65 MGB. Both were white with black tops and racing stripes (sorry no photos to post), same as my 2013 MCS Roadster. The MINI might be British, but thank God it doesn't have Lucas electrics!

I really like the glossy blacked out chrome. I can't recall, but did you do aftermarket parts, or paint?

I got full red stripes installed on my R59 today and am really pleased with the results. The installer's attention to detail was amazing. I will post some better pictures in the daylight, but here are some quick snapshots I took while picking up the car from the shop.

Looks COMPLETELY different than when I had the dealer installed stripes, as shown below:

I'm glad to see that you ran the stripe all the way through. It looks great.

I love them in black with red stripes! It's the ultimate combo. I got a red R59, because in Utah, black cars can't survive the scratching the dust causes.

I didn't so stripes, because I came up with the spider motif.

I got a chance to take some pictures in the light today of my Roadster with newly installed red stripes. Living in MA, I know I have to put the front license plate back on, but boy, I love the uninterrupted stripes :-) Also, the vinyl installer tied in my original gray Cooper S side decals with the red by adding a red "S" to it. At some point, I may pull those and go with something fully custom, but that works for now.
