My build is in paint right now and the automated response at ask mini said build complete tomorrow. I tried to talk to an actual live person and she couldn't provide any additional information. Maybe it's me but the tracking experience is less than stellar.
Oh well. I guess it is a good problem to have since at the end of it comes a sweet new ride.
Less than stellar? LOL, when I ordered my last Ford I was given a "date" that was 2 weeks before I actually got the car and they couldn't give me any details at all for two whole months. Said they wouldn't know anything until the car arrived on the lot!
Personally I think the MINI Waiting experience is awesome!

Alan, I got the same thing, automated service had the most info.. I spoke with a live person and he directed me to my MA. At least there is some sort of tracking to occupy our time, I find it fun, imagining the various stages my Roadster is going through. I'm in paint today...whoohoo One day maybe Mini will offer a build/vacation package like the German brands have. That would be very cool.
Ok nothing is more of a dull then waiting for a ship to cross the Atlantic Ocean. Hard to believe it will be 7 more days until we reach the shores of Baltimore.

Tell me about it, just went though it waiting on mine. And my ship show'd it's position when it left Spain (after the UK) and then not again til it was close to Baltimore....and then hasn't done anything since, and that was this past weekend. I do know the car was unloaded....my MA said right now in her system the ETA at the dealership is Thursday!!! I'm hoping I can pick it up on Saturday :-)

WoW ... Your almost done...
I think the next one I get will be off the lot ... No special order.

Just an observation. Very strange a live person knows less than an automated system. The waiting is fine, was looking for more detail to bench marks after paint. The live person didn't know what model, or any information other than my personal info. She said dates were estimates and could not say for sure. Idk, just had the impression from other posts ask mini was the way to get more info.

Agreed, I am looking forward to tracking the shipping vessel. I'm splitting hairs. Got to kill 4 weeks + somehow. Why not complain.. Jk.

Actually your build information can help me figure the detail I was looking for. Once production is over it takes aprox 5 days to port and sail. Once it is on the water I have seen others taking 2 weeks to the canal and then 2 weeks to L A. All told I have about 5 weeks left. Nice, come off vacation to a new car. Seems like calling my MA a couple more times could help too.

No worries, it all good.
Had the same experience, Ask mini live had less info than the automated version live ask mini just kept referringe back to ma
JCW Roadster was in paint shop today with a completion date of tomorrow (4-5-12)- so maybe a delivery date before the end of the month
Ms Brit
Our JCW's seem to be going through the line at the same time. I'm getting the same info on mine. I was wondering if they produce like models at the same time...seems to make sense. I just noticed you are in Illinois as well. They will definitely be crossing the ocean together
I was getting kinda worried that the production wasn't getting started, as I ordered my MINI on Feb 25. This will be my 5th MINI and the tracking is just as exciting as the first. I'm in Illinois but the car will be dropped off in Indianapolis,IN.
I didn't get a chance to track mine. It was "in production" for a long time then I got a call from the dealer that it was here. Not complaining...it was a pleasant suprise!
