Had a long think about the spec of my car and since I've had 3 red cars in the past I decided to change to spice orange - I also changed the interior spec.

Still no updates on OL however ASK MINI indicates an April 5 completion date-exactly 1 year and 1 day from the delivery of my 2011 Countryman S ALL4

I drove a JCW coupe in Spice Orange when I ended up ordering the roadster, It was certainly a striking look. As I sat there ordering my car the orange with black roof and stripes definitely grew on me.

As for the configurator, I tried speccing my US car in the UK configurator to get some more interior views and couldn't do it. The option packs are very different, and adding some things forces a pack that deletes something else. I think we have a lot more ordering flexibility in the US, which was a surprise. You seem to be able to get pretty much everything a la carte here, and that doesn't seem to be the case in the UK.

I could not get the interior combination that I ordered
I could not get the exterior combination either
It seems the options are just not the same. It's ok, a few weeks and i will have the real thing. The ship is already in the atlantic ocean.

 

Am I missing something or is the English version putting the steering wheel on the wrong (LHD) side?

I agree - you seem to have more flexibility on spec combination in the US than in the UK.

I think the UK configurator was designed by MINI in Germany for the whole of Europe so the steering wheel is on the wrong side for us.

My roadster was due before MINI United (start of May) but has been delayed until the end of June at the moment Hopefully it will move forward though

 

Ok as the sun sets on another day, that's one day closer to delivery day

Nope, as soon as she's unloaded she's ready to go :-) Sold my old MINI this past weekend. So all I gotta do is hand them my down payment check, sign some forms and I'm golden :-) Can't wait! It'd be nice to have it for Easter! Whenever I do get it, lots of pics will be posted, haha. I'm taking my DSLR with me to pick it up!
