Wheels Questions

I have a 2014 R58, Cooper-S. When I bought it has 18' wheels in which I hate the ride too bumpy and touches the fender well. I looking to get 17" or 16" any recommendation or advise? also my lug only 4 not sure if it's stock... Hate the mini cooper dealership in Philippines if you ask them parts question they always say they are not allow to provide parts info....which is BS...

Thanks R58'ers

I have R98 split rims 17” fitted with 205/45 R17 Which were fitted to the chili pack option here. Michelin Pilot sport 4. No rubbing. Several members of the club I am in say 18” give a hard ride. None have complained of tyres rubbing the arch.

Have 17x8 Team dynamics wheels on mine, but had R113 18" Genuine MINI https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/R113/

and 17" R112 Genuine MINI in the past, no issues. https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/r112/

It the factory runflat tires that are too harsh and need swapped out then you are fine.

17" with non runflats smooth out the ride a lot.

To OP check out realoem.com for parts info. Tou can also be very specific to your vehicle by entering the last 7 of your VIN.

Spring R58 2014

Need help here... I was going to purchase a set of wheels either 17" or 16".... My 2014 Copper S, R58 Coupe has 18" on it when I purchase it... (hard Bumpy Ride and touches the wheel well). Anyway I'm not sure if the original owner replace the spring see attached... I have added 1 1/2" rubber to lift a bit and help but not enough. I though maybe if I just change the spring it will raise it up.. to change the wheels might have the same affect if the spring either shorten or lowering spring.
Should I look for Spring instead of spending on new wheels and tires...

Huh, i would not add rubber to the spring like that, did they trim or cut the spring, it looks stock, with incorrect wheels sizes and maybe cut spring the wheel can bottom out and rub the inner plastic.
