This is my personal preference, but I think 16" wheels are perfect on the MINI. You have to decide this for yourself. Many people love eighteens on a MINI. Depending on the style, I would consider 17" wheels, but probably never 18"--to each his own. Have fun making the decision! I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you choose.

I have 215/35/18's and love them. Ride is great and it tracks so much better. Why JCW....that whole thing is too expensive for what it's worth and so many people have them? Be your own individual. Just my $.02 Good luck with whatever you decide to go with.

18" wheels shouldnt be a problem but make sure to check the width and offset, or else they could rub.

I definitely would not spend the $$$ and get 18" JCW wheels. Save almost 2000 bucks and get the factory 16" wheels, then shop aftermarket with a lot more options and have a spare set of wheels and tires.

I am running 18's. Be sure to check the width and offset when you purchase, lots of threads on that here.
I am very happy with the ride on my new wheels. 18's track and ride better than stock runflats!
Look aftermarket instead of JCW.

The O.Z. Racing Ultraleggera in 18" weighs less than 17 pounds. Gabe at Motoringfile recently got them to replace the JCWs: http://motoringfile.com/2006/06/26/m...wheels-part-2/

I just saw Gabes car and I must say, those wheels just look awesome. But back to the question at hand, No, 18" are not too big, do some research in the brake, tire forum to help you decide.

Since you asked (here come the flames) 18 " are way too big - looks like the wheels are wearing the car 16 in. is perfect, 17 in. if you must
