R58 Rattling Noise From Dash on Passenger Side
It's so crazy to hear people complain about a little rattling noise! You own a coupe!!! Have fun with it, dang I'm having so much fun in my R58 that I don't have time to listen for rattling noises. I'm sorry I just think that's a silly thing to complain about. And for all the people who want quick fixes for it, well there is none, live with it or go get a new car, I'm sure someone else would love to have your rattling coupe.
For a BMW product, it is a shame to have these issues and it bothers me because I drive my car daily on different road surfaces and this is annoying.

Not sure your age or what your life experience is owning and driving automobiles is.
R58JCW seem to run in the mid 30s it is not asking much for no rattles at this price point. The fact that several posts on here complained about the same noise in the same location on the R58 should tell you something.

Compared to the Gen1s the Gen2s are much better in the rattle department, but still leave a lot of room for improvement.
Fortunately I saw that you YouTube video where the reviewer demonstrated some of the squeaks and rattles he found on his brand new review vehicle, so I knew what I was in for.
Even still I find them annoying.
My wife's old Jeep Liberty, the model designed by Mercedes, had fewer rattles after 260,000 miles than the Gen2 had upon delivery.
I'm just glad I drive a Roadster in SoCal and can drive with the top down all the time.

I know, right?
It's like those people that don't like their faded stripes.
It's so crazy to hear people complain about a little fading! You own a coupe!!! Have fun with it, dang I'm having so much fun in my R58 that I don't have time to look at fading stripes. I'm sorry I just think that's a silly thing to complain about. And for all the people who want quick fixes for it, well there is none, live with it or go get a new car, I'm sure someone else would love to have your ratty-striped coupe.
Oh wait...

If you were "just speaking your opinion", you would have talked about how YOU don't care about the rattles, and how YOU "just live with it".
Instead, you told others how THEY should ignore the rattles, and how THEY should "live with it or go get a new car", and how it's a silly thing for THEM to complain about. That's just rude. Everyone doesn't have the same priorities as you do.
And yes - I AM a smart ***. But at least I respect other peoples' opinions rather than criticize them for not sharing mine.

It is pretty simple.
Back on topic:
I had a rattle coming from somewhere in the dash on the passenger's side for months. Sounded like a loose wire rattling against a piece of plastic. I tore the entire dash apart and couldn't find anything.
Then one day I was under the bonnet and, upon closing it, I heard the rattle loud and clear from the passenger's side. A clue!
Did some digging, flipped up the battery access panel, and saw the positive cable cover was hitting the wiper cowl. Clipped it back down, and it's been silent running once again.
