I picked up my coupe this afternoon. It has been at the collision shop for about 2 months. I was having withdrawals! It was rear ended , so while in the shop, I asked the them to install a jcw rear bumper - sweet!
Only thing now my dash lights up the yellow bulb with an exclamation point. The lower right (passenger) light comes on only in reverse. Although the driver side lower light has a bulb in it and is wired, it does not come on under any condition.
Any help/suggestions is much appreciated!

 

Thats normal. The. Pass side light is the only light the drivers side is wired for all cars but not active in usa.

I would check all bulbs installed for functin and cirrect bulb. The owners manual has all the correct bulbs listed for each location.

Thanks I'll check it out. I am a little concerned that it will not pass motorvehicle inspection (Aug) because of the warning on the dash light - even though all exterior lights are functioning.

If I had bought the car from the dealer with the jcw aero kit, how would Mini address the dashboard warning light?

 

Just because the light bulb works doesn't mean that it is the correct bulb. BMW MINI light check system is very very specific to resistance.

I would check all the bulbs back there. And not just in the bumper. If you pull one out and it was working but it's got a black smoke look to it. That's your culprit.

Hi , I'm waiting on my body shop guy he said he ordered a driver side reverse light for it.

 

Update: Got my car back from the body shop.
They installed new driver side reverse light - ordered from mini and changed wiring from fog to reverse. Now both light up when in reverse and no more bulb out on dash board.
