Coupe S vs JCW vs Fiat Abarth

Im trying to decide between the 3...help me out! Is the JCW that much better then the S? I was thinking a used JCW would be best bang for buck!

SOmeone give me a break down of my 3 choices!

There is no breakdown. Hands down get the JCW. You won't regret it. I love my MCS but if I find a used perfect JCW coupe one day, I'm getting in it.

The abarth is quick for what it is but not quicker than a regular mini. The JCW is the way to go all the way. I am in agreement I love my S but if a JCW appears thats in my cars shape I would jump too. The Abarth is the Dart only smaller, if you go to a fiat forum site and look at problems and issues you will run away from it, not to mention carmax sells them 1 yr old for 10 k less than new. they arent holding value for a reason....FIAT =Fix- It -Again -Tony

I have a MCS 09 with lots of mods i'm hitting around 270whp with hybrid-turbo. Yesterday i went to try both cars , the R58 JCW and the Abarth. Hands down no match for the R58 JCW. the fiat lacks looks, power, torque, and the best thing mini has handling!! I bought the JCW r58 chili red with black roof.

hope this will help

Not so fast on the JCW recommendations, especially if you're looking to buy used. What are you looking for in a car? What is your driving style? Do you need the power? Have you considered the difference between expected repair costs of JCW vs MCS? I drove both new and decided that the MCS was more than enough power for me. I'm pleased with my decision.

I like quick and numble. Ive test ridden the Abarth and the Coupe S (Not JCW). I liked the sound and cargo in the Abarth, but the fit n finish/power of the Cooper. I just want to know much better the JCW is than the Coupe S. Im looking for heated everything and navigation and minimum.

Where is the maintenance difference between an S and a FJCW?

If you buy them new. There is no difference.the service cover oil chance, fluids, breaks and some other details. If you buy them used, that is a hole new thing. To start. JCW hold a higher market value and resale sow to buy a used one will be more expensive. JCW has bigger brakes (brembo), bigger turbo, better shocks, etc. it's like buying a BMW vs. a BMW M series. The M series everything is more expensive.

But with a JCW you will be truning head on the street.

If you want to drive stock to light modification, get the S. If you want to moderately or highly mod your car, go with the JCW. No secondary catalytic converter to remove and no boost cut at 22psi. Not that anyone needs to run that high of boost on a daily driver 4 cylinder... (And the debate begins!)

You'll turn heads with an R58 period lol.

I would say JCW all day everyday, but Theta has done extensive testing on his Counrtyman All4 and has stated that a fully modded N18JCW is very close in power to a fully modded N18S.

Now if you're into resale value and all that jazz, JCW all day.

The base price difference between an S and JCW is what gets me at the end of the day.

Oh! Are you talking about the price? I'm saying, if cash were no object.... I'd love to walk in and cash up for My Perfect FJCW...maybe a coupe! Not going to happen before there aren't any new ones probably. Hope the F56 JCW is worth the mandatory wait. :(

A highly modded Coupe MCS and a JCW are very close because your talking N18. They both have the same air box. And if your changing out the exhaust and suspension. So let's say a MCS with Akrapovic down pipe and exhaust KW V3's and a tune. It's equal to a JCW N18 for less or equal money.

Yes but IMO why spend the money modding a MCS that will have a semi or highly stressed motor depending on the tune and it can cause engine breakdown and more issues just to replicate or surpass the JCW HP, when your still not getting bigger turbo,JCW wheels, big brakes, aero body kit, better ECU, and lots more JCW stuff.

I'm comparing N18 MCS vs N18 JCW. I have the JCW body kit wheels interior bits etc. It's a $2000.00 option and well worth the money. The intake and ECU etc is the same on the N18. Then you can build the car you want and not just the way mini does it. It's a way of saving money in the end. But it only works if your the type of person that likes to mod your car. And if you like to do the work yourself. Otherwise, yes just let mini do it for you.

Aren't you missing out on the brakes that way? And the engine & ECU are NOT the same. Where do you think they get that extra HP from? The air? LoL

The extra HP is mostly from the different turbocharger, one that cannot be added to the R56.

Take a stock S. Add JCW Tuning Kit and JCW brakes as long as your wheels will accommodate the front calipers. Pay the man about $4K.
