2013 jcw coup with less than 5,000 miles, The yellow engine light came on earlier today
still runs and pulls like there's no problems, weird...gonna take it into the dealer this Saturday, Anybody else had a similar problem if so what was it ??

It would help to know the code that's causing the check engine light to come on. I'd recommend investing in a code reader. As for your engine light, the problem could be anything.
It is probably just telling you to come in for an oil change. You might do a lot of city driving etc.. that is causing extra wear.
Thanks for the comments guys.. I disconnected the battery and left it for awhile that cleared an engine warning light on my last vehicle, but it didn't work this time. I don't think its anything major just damn annoying, Ill keep you guys posted after the dealer looks at it tomorrow.

....Anyways they plugged it up to the diagnostic machine and found nothing wrong, got my oil changed so alls well with the world

My CEL came on yellow with about 2500 miles on the odo. Dealer's Service person said it was okay to drive as long as the light was yellow and not red. He suspected loose gas cap as most likely cause--I had just filled the tank the day before. He said drive about five start/stop cycles of at least five miles and see if light stayed off. My yellow CEL stayed off after the fourth cycle. I did check the gas cap for tight which was okay, the MINI ran great throughout the problem, so I don't know what caused it either.

Actually guys it came on again, but I think I figured it out, I have a Racechip Ultimate installed which is plug and play, I unplugged it and the light went out plugged it back up and the light came on, so I think there's a bad wire somewhere in the harness that comes with the Racechip, anyways I spoke to the Racechip people and there sending me a new harness.
