Just wanted to share my new '13 JCW Coupe Automatic. I got her last December 21st and it's been great so far.

Sweet JCW Coupe! I've been dying of the thought of trading mine in for one but can't. But your MINI looks amazing! Enjoy her plenty!

Very nice. Good luck with it. Does your face hurt from the non stop smiling?

Thanks guys! Braminator, I am used to the smile plastered on my face but I am still not used to the attention when I drive the car...

Hahaha, after awhile you tend to just forget about the people who stare and point lol. You'll get use to it haha.

My favorite color scheme, sweet car!

So how's the auto tranny? How bad is the lag between shifts? Do you have the peddles on the steering wheel?

Congrats, that's one badass coupe.

Thanks guys! Originally wanted a manual but the wife needed to drive this a few times a week so had to get an auto. Also the traffic where we live is bad so auto trans is really the way to go. There is a bit of lag which I expected on auto trannies. It came with the paddle shifts but overall it's still fun to drive.

What you mention here is my dilemma too. I have assumed that there I are differences between the standard Mini s automatic, but nothing has been published on the subject. A good automatic connected to a high performance motor is nice, if the transmission is of equal quality. That's what I'm trying to find out. Also, manuals are nice and gun, but a good automatic can be too. I have a manual six speed now, but my cannot drive a manual transmission.

Very nice, you folks do realize that in the real head to head test the automatics are faster than the 6 speed. On the drag strip and out on the road, unless your a regular competitor at the strip or on the track.

Just passing along the facts. Try out the paddles in DS mode, you will like it.

I can't wait for all the comments and facts to be spoken.

I haven't really tried using the paddle shifters/DS mode as I mainly drive in the city. I will try this out in the Country and share feedback.

Jet, I'm curious as to the gear select lever in your auto. My S auto has a red S on chrome on the lock button. What does the JCW lever look like?

Hi Rejene,

The lock button on mine doesn't have any sign attached to it.
