Do you mean "Does the rear end of the car get dirty faster than the rest?" If so, the answer is yes. Every car's rear gets dirty faster than the rest (ignoring brake dust on the wheels, off-roading through mud, and the like). It's a function of how air flows around the car.

I think the OP is asking if the boot gets as filthy as the hardtop's does, especially on wet roads. And especially the back window!

And if I'm wrong, I would still like to know. Thanks!

At 120, the rain never even hits the windshield. 7 years driving in Germany is how I know that.

But when being good boys and girls..... ?

Actually.. Its funny that you posted this.

I was just talking to the GF about this.. It doesn't. My R53 boot was always 5x dirtier than the rest of car. On the R58, it's pretty much even all the way around. I have to wash this one way less than before.

Excellent... thanks!

Yeah, I have been cleaning rear windows on first generation MINIs so long and so often, my arms go in circles in my sleep.

Interesting. Mine gets dirtier on the rear than the rest of the car; I would say about twice as fast. This seems normal and unremarkable to me. If I'd bought a hardtop instead of the coupe, I'd expect it to get dirty even quicker, of course.

I wonder if it has to do with driving conditions, or driving style, or something else?

Any car with a significant vertical profile on the rear will gather dust & soot from the exhaust there. It's all about aerodymanics & the low pressure zone created behind the car that sort of sucks in the particulates. The Coupé, having a small vertical profile, gathers said crust of crud more slowly than the Hardtop, with its appreciably larger vertical profile.

I still get crud, but not nearly as quickly or severely as my 2 R53's did.

I agree with BillTheCat
