R58 300 HP JCW Coupe
Cool, makes me want to get mine out on a track. Been to busy :(
I wrote about this MINI Coupe on my Library of Motoring website:

Check out the impressive list of cars it beat on the Hockenheimring.

Sorry to be lazy, but d'ye know the weight of that car? Everything says "220 lbs lighter" or "100 kg lighter" but that just hints at the answer...

It will be done...
I plan on modding my car to achieve something close to this. Going to take time/money/effort.
I recall that they were restricted on engine mods. Basically they could throw a tune on it and thats about it, so the 300hp is more like 300bhp at the crank. That part is achievable if my numbers are any indication.
It's the 2300-2400lbs weight that is the issue. I've broken the bank on my Coupe to get it under 2600lbs with only a gallon of gas, 15" wheels, race seats, lith-ion battery, and a few other "heavy" parts swapped for lighter alternatives. I figure there's another 50-60 in the stereo and AC, but I like those things :-) If there was just some option to getting rid of the heavy steel roof and rear hatch...
Lastly a LSD and racing slicks can transform any car. See example here:

Awesome man. I plan on getting rid of some of the metal parts on my car for carbon fiber. This is a very, very long term "project" car for me. I've never had a ca that I feel is this worthy of epicness.
