Read somewhere that it is about a 6hr job

....so I guess multiply that by the hourly rate at your local dealer

6hrs is probably a bit much. For reference, the R56 JCW kit, which is essentially the same as this, was quoted as a 2 hour install.

Yeah, but for the R58, they have to account for all the time the mechanics spend in a mesmerized stupor, drooling at the Coupé's stunning beauty.

MINI USA's site already lists this kit under the JCW Accessories option for the Coupé. Lists the kit @ $2119.00, and the installed price as $2338.90. Of course, I am sure there will be deals to be had.

A bit weird that the article states higher gains to be had than the Mini site does???

I was lambasted in another thread for quoting stats from MINI USA's web site. Apparently, they are known to be inaccurate. So who knows?

On the other hand, my local dealer has confirmed that the kit is available for install, and wants to discuss OTD pricing with me. This is the first time I am actually considering JCW accessories for my MINI. Always went aftermarket on the other 2. But this kit is not that much higher priced than quality aftermarket parts would be, so I may keep it in the family this time.

(Someone please toss a glass of cold water on James Day's face to wake him from that shocker.)

This is true, not to mention this is really the only ECU upgrade thats available for the N18 engine.....that doesn't void the warranty

Very interested in this. I assume the dealer had to special order these. I wonder what the wait time is.

So for about $2,300 you get the ECU that boosts the BHP by about 10 (to 189 HP and the torque), and the exhaust and upgraded air filter and exhaust tips and badging. That about right?

My dealer confirmed it ups the hp to 197 and tq 199.

Its basically an expensive factory tune....and really the only option for N18's to be tuned without worry of warranty issues.

To anyone who has this installed....

Is the intake a panel filter or is it cylinder shaped like the 2007-2010 JCW intake?
