R58 Roadster Configurator up at MINI USA
Nice
. My minimum specs for a JCW Roadster would include CW package, white lights, white silver paint, Xenons, and wind deflector which puts me at about $37,400
. That's before adding other options that I would like to have. Those Recaros sure would be great too.....

Seeing it in the configuration is a good sign! We've had our order in for about a week.
Wish there was more info about the Recaro's and the semi-automatic top option. Neither of those is on our build at this point, and not sure if they should be or not.
Was happy to see that the JCW suspension looks like it will be available. Still not sure if I want to go that way or aftermarket but nice to have the choice.

If you're interested in Reef Blue, it will be available on the Roadster in March.

I built the JCW Roadster as close as I could to my JCW Coupe and it came out 3K more. I love my Coupe and have no regrets. Just can't go with a soft top in the Northwest. Not enough good weather. If I lived in Northern California or even Oregon it would have been a serious consideration.
BTW almost 3800 perfect trouble free miles thus far. Yea!!

Where's my Ice Blue?
I guess I'd have to settle for the Reef...
That's a good step to getting the Roadster closer to reality. $2,750 for the Recaros? Even with heated seating, that a bridge too far. Especially since I'm assuming it's just the seats, and no special treatment for the rear, headliner, etc.
+$3k for the convertible option is pretty reasonable compared to other cars. My S would come to $31K, which is going to be substantially higher than an Abarth with a sunroof. Hmmmm.

Abarth 15.8 lb/hp
Cooper S Roadster 15.17 lb/hp
Per both websites, manny transmission
7 more hp in the Fiat and they'd be equal (there's talk of dealer-installed bump in hp down the road for the Abarth, details very sketchy).
Now, a more apples to apples comparison would obviously be the coupe, which at $25,300 and 14.8 lb/hp is a much easier battle for the Mini to win on purely the numbers (and I'm sure in driving dynamics as well) vs. pricing front, but without a sunroof, I wouldn't be looking that way. YMMV.

Closer than I thought.
I guess it just comes down to I don't like the Fiat. I think it's ugly both inside and out and it wouldn't be a car that I would ever consider owning. I should probably refrain from commenting about this car simply because I am just too biased.
But thanks for the information and setting me straight.
