9500 miles and no problems. Contemplating putting her up for sale if I can't talk my wife into adding another car.

JCW - needs replacement flywheel + AC/Heater blower issue

Took the JCW in w/26,800 miles on odometer. 2 issues: AC/Heat blower didn't blow (except on HI position) and when clutch was not depressed (like at a traffic light, out of gear) there was a tic-tic-tic sound. Dealership needs to replace the flywheel (take apart entire tranny) and also blower switch/relay needs to be replaced.

Not clear what's the story w/the flywheel replacement - I'm an experienced manual transmission driver. other than the tic-tic sound, the clutch performed well.

Thought I would offer an update. The rattles really are not bad. Less so without the run flats on the car. I actually don't notice them any longer and truthfully it was only one particular area.

I have 25,380 miles on the car now and other than the intermittent rattle the car is mechanically perfect. It runs just great and is a hoot to drive. I'm only averaging 29 MPG but most of my driving is in town. So I'm pretty happy with that. On a long freeway drive a few weeks ago I averaged 34 MPG. I guess for the JCW that's ok. I'm changing the oil about every 8k or so. I never did buy any extended warranty, maintenance or mechanical. I'm going to take my chances. I may sell it once the factory warranty is up but I will decide when that time comes.

By the way we sold my wife's car. She was done with the Mini thing and wanted something more quiet and comfortable. So we sold it ourselves and she bought one of the new 2014 Toyota Corollas. It's actually a nice car and gets better fuel economy than her Mini. She loves it and it's way better than the old model. Anyway she's happy and if she is happy I am happy.

5800 miles and zero mechanical problems. My only issue is defective silver stripes. They have lost their luster and have weird spots on them and look OLD....they are 8 months old. The local BMW dealership is replacing them for free as a courtesy, but denies a defect, saying its environmental. However, the orange stripes on the roof are flawless (?)....environmental...hmmm...ok.

So you can take me off the trouble free mileage at 19k. Sputter at 26-3000 rpm. Brought it in. They replaced some wire valve control and gave it back, still sputtering. Back in the shop now for two days and they are still trying to figure out what's wrong.

Looks like the fun has begun! Anyone else with similar issues?

Have been fairly trouble free. Oil changes and a few rattles. However at 47,000 miles, had the oil leak at the solenoid. Additionally the spoiler was closing down on the deck very hard. Dealership found motor and entire spoiler assembly has to be replaced. On backorder for 2-3 weeks. Whew....thank goodness still in warranty!!

26,757 and still two thumbs up.
Still debating whether to keep this car.

Has anyone sold their car? Is there much of a market out there for used Coupes? I still get lots of looks and I still don't see that many around. I suppose that can be good or bad.

8900 miles, then trim on brake shift lever broke off

2013 S Coupe. Made it to 8900 miles and the chrome trim on the brake shift lever broke off. I think the dog stepped on it, though.

Hello everyone,

2012 JCW 19,963 miles and I had the clutch and fly wheel replaced at 13,654 miles and this past week the water pump had to be changed due to it leaking under pressure.
All of the work has been done under the warranty but it makes me think of selling prior to the warranty expiring.
I really enjoy driving it but I think that for a vehicle under 20K miles I should not be having these problems.
Just a thought here.

13,654 miles until a new clutch. That is really a short time!

18,300 Miles. Has not needed any oil added, running like a champ (knock on wood). Exhaust sounds even better!

Just passed 20K in about 14 months.

Today I did put it in for a software update; it was showing that the brake pads were low, which they are not. Easy fix and fully covered.

No regrets!

Two years as of June 8. 32,100 miles, replaced two faulty sensors and that's it.

FINALLY....after 6-8 months of dealing with the local BMW dealership, I am getting my defective roof, bonnet and boot stripes replaced under warranty. They look like they are at least 5-6 years old or older now, but are only 1.5 years old. At 12,XXX miles....nothing wrong mechanically.
