R58 2012 MINI USA Configurator (with Coupe) Now Available!
yikes! Well I had a bizarre experience on the site today. I punched in the same spec as I went over with my MA. It won't let me choose a silver roof with the white silver body. So I called him to double check - and when he referred to the order it had taken the silver/silver combo. Of course we are still waiting for allocation, but it was MINI USA, and it didn't spit it out! Also odd, was when we entered everything it would not allow certain rims with all season tires. For example the 4 "horseshoe" styled wheel could not be paired with all seasons - where to today is was an allowable order option.
We decided to leave everything AS IS, and worst case - they say I have to have a black roof with the WS. Considered Pepper WHite and silver, but it just don't do it for me!!!!

I don't think the white silver body is the same color as the silver top. It didn't look the same to me in the Italian site. Look at the silver top with other body colors and see what you think. I'd not like the silver top to "almost match" the paint of the body.

For those of you having problems viewing the Coupe in the new configurator, here's a blurb from MotoringFile on how to do it:
As of this moment the only way to get to it is to choose one of the existing models and then click “change model” in the top left. From there you can choose your Coupe of choice. Just make sure to treat your hypothetical MINI Coupe to a $1000 leather dash. It totally deserves it.
mine automatically did that option-I had selected white silver body color w/ black roof, and as soon as I hit the black sport stripes, it added the silver ones to the roof.
Thanks for the heads up!
Good comment about the leather seats.....should be half the price!
Lightning Blue/Silver S for me. Almost 64 and semi-retired.....have always yearned for a two seater sports coupe.....that I was crazy about and could also afford. Well here it is.....saw one last Saturday and it 'blew me away!' I had already ordered a Laser Blue S that's somewhere in the Atlantic since my lease ends Sept. 29. Been a Cooper S owner for nine years and this will be a really, really fun change of pace.
Still can't order one though.
Do the cloth/leather seats come with a lumbar adjustment?

I beleive the reason for this is the Coupe is a 2012 while all others are still 2011. The only car you can configure for 2012 is the Coupe. Check out the packages on the Hardtop and they still have the old packages for 2011. The JCW body kit will be standard for Hardtop and cabriolet [not the clubmam though] I am pretty sure they are trying to get rid of the leftover 2011 dealer stock before they crank up the 2012 configurator.
I saw a Justa Coupe at Cincinnati MINI last weekend. I really lked it. I am waiting for the Roadster though. I've got the JCW configured but can't decide on the all black "Darth Vader" look or the Chili Red with black roof like my now-totaled R56 was.

LOL, I saw the exact same setup last night. Also, found one where the rear stripes change color.
I've posted this comment before: Every time BMW or MINI add a vehicle to the configurator, the QA sucks. Always mistakes made, which are immediately exposed to customers.
C'mon MINI, these snafu's appeared within the first two minutes of playing with the configurator. Or are you just doing this to keep us entertained?

Yeah, there are all kinds of crazy formatting problems with the new configurator right now. Kind of embarrassing if you ask me.
With just a few good beta testers, MINI USA could of had all of them fixed in a jiff. Heck, I'd of been a beta tester if they'd only asked.
Although, I'd much rather have a buggy configurator than none at all, so kudos to them for at least getting it out.

It seems like using the Italian configurator the Coupe S comes standard with a chrome gas cap. Is it standard in the US? I can't even find it to order as an accessory. And what about the prep for the rear bike rack? I thought that had to be done at the factory. The only rack I see available is the ski rack
