Difference between Fuse Body Control Models?numbers

2010 Mini Cooper S convertible US R57. A few weeks ago, my wife’s car died randomly. After a few minutes it started up and ran fine. Over the next few weeks, this happened more frequently. No error codes.

I searched and found posts about the solder joints on the low pressure fuel pump control relay, so I investigated. I followed the instructions on a YouTube video and removed the fuse body control module in the passenger footwell (US). I then cut the two boards apart and found the relay indeed had a bad looking solder joint. I reflowed the joint and then soldered the boards back together, which I probably didn’t do too well. On reinstallation, a number of problems were apparent. Eventually, I decided to buy a used module on EBay.

I installed the new module and it seems to be working fine so far but I’ve only driven it around the block. I have questions though.

The “new” module has matching part numbers, H4, R57 etc.but they are different. The original was made in Spain in 2010, the new one is stamped Morocco 2011. There are two fuse ports, 14 and 33 I believe, that are missing on the new module. I found a diagram that says the fuse points may correspond to CD changer which we don’t have, and a AUS sensor?

My wife is going to run errands over the next couple days and see if any problems arise. But if anyone has any suggestions or caution, please let me know. Also, now I have a R57 board that could probably be fixed pretty easily if someone needs one. 😄

Thanks
