Fuse Box Body Control module pin removal help

What tool is used to remove the pins (contacts) from the connectors which reside inside the C-F and C-G locations on the fuse distribution module. The module is located in the passenger footwell area.

What type of pin and crimper is used for repair?

I have corrosion issues on several of the contacts.

C-F and C-G, how to remove pins from mating connectors?

Thank you kindly

The problem is not going to be in the connectors only. most often, the board itself is also damaged. most fuse boxes if you match the part number (or same options specially transmission type) are plug and play.

Those are not pins, they are terminals soldered to the circuit board. If you remove the module from the car and disassemble it you will see how it is constructed. Here is a good thread to help: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...eg-on-r56.html

Sorry I guess I was not clear on my description, How do you remove the contacts from the connectors that reside inside the C-F and C-G.

Thanks

there are tabs on the side of these connectors. pull and slid. then use a thin flat head to push on the pin tab to slide it out of the position.

By any chance are any of these issues preventing your car from starting? I'm currently having a crank but no start issue and I've already tried replacing the lpfp, hpfp and relay in the fusebox under the hood.

Hi,

Sounds like the same issue, crank but no fire.

what happened was I left the car outside over winter, and the snow melted and dripped water into the passenger footwell area.

The carpet has a thick foam insulation which holds the moisture.

The C-F and C-G connectors are at the very lower area of the module, and are the most susceptible to the moisture / corrosion.

I have diagnosed that these connectors have corrosion and are preventing the car from firing. If I wiggle the wire the engine will fire.

This is a design flaw on these cars, I’m willing to bet you have the same issue.

Do you see a Key symbol on the display when cranking?

Check you pins.

Update!

So I did a bit of pulling and jiggling and everything looked fine visually which annoyed me initially, but when I went to start it, it fired up right away! Only issue is now my windows, fog light drls and indicators don't work and I have no idea what plug controls that stuff.
