Anyone know if a windscreen from a 2005 will fit a 2011??

Does anyone know if an OEM windscreen that fits a 2005 mini convertible will fit on a 2011 mini convertible? I found someone selling one about 2.5 hours away and am willing to make the drive but I need to know first if it will fit.

hrmm....lots of confusing info on these threads. I'm almost tempted to take the drive just to check it out but as it turns out, it's about a 3.5 hour drive each way so I'm looking at 7 hours round trip and over a full tank of gas so add at least 50 bucks for gas, plus another 25 or 30 in tolls for what could end up being a wasted trip, not to mention adding another 80 bucks or so to the cost of the item. If it works it would still be much cheaper than buying a new one but if it doesn't, then I just wasted 80 bucks and 7 hours of driving. Not that I mind the drive..... but the gas and tolls for no good reason would suck. What to do.....

In that thread, people initially speculated that it wouldn't fit. However, when someone actually tried it, it did fit (much to everybody's surprise). Subsequently, more people have fitted the old wind deflector on a new convertible without a problem, and I would say that it has been confirmed to fit. I haven't seen anybody report that it didn't work.

That would be a lot of time and driving to pick it up. Personally I would prefer to have it shipped.

Yeah, I could do that but I really don't mind the drive as long as I know for sure it'll work.

I just purchased a 2005 mini convertible yesterday. Today I picked up the folding windscreen made by Mini and it fits and works great. It just pops in and out, and of course you can leave it in all the time if no one is sitting in the back seat. The windscreens for 09-12 are different then the earlier ones and won't fit. I don't know what the difference is, but the parts department said they show separately. I paid $390.00

From the title, I suspect many thought you were talking about a windshield and those who answered no may have been responding based on that presumption.

Same issue on another similar thread:
windscreen = windshield
wind deflector = wind deflector
This does create confusion if an interpreter is not available when we have two nations seperated by a common language.

Test question: Where would you look on your MINI for a damper?
