That's interesting. On my build sheet, it listed voice recognition as a separate option below Navigation. I would think if they read the build sheet they would know it's available.

Can anybody please name a dealer in the US who positively solved the voice recognition issue for the nav system? Also, is there a number known for the service bulletin supposedly our for this issue? My dealer here in upstate NY is telling me-similar to some of the above posts-that this function is only for bluetooth,that they do not know about any service bulletin, that they cannot do anything about the problem, that it is not really a problem, and.....

It wasn't listed on the build sheet for my March build, so I wouldn"t have been surprised if my MA didn't know about it.

In the meantime, I'm stuck with a Honda Accord rental boat. The unresponsive steering reminds me of my Mom's mid-century Buick. Being used to the steering in the MINI and an old Integra, I nearly drove the Accord off the cliff that impersonates a driveway to my house.

I took my MCS into MINI of Mountain View for the software upgrade on Wednesday the 12th. They informed me that they had only attempted this once before and it "didn't take." However, they were hopeful that MINI would have a newer version by now. Friday afternoon I got a call informing me that MINI's main server had crashed during the update process and they didn't know when the server would be up again. They were hopeful that they would have it completed by Monday.
In the meantime, I'm stuck with a Honda Accord rental boat. The unresponsive steering reminds me of my Mom's mid-century Buick. Being used to the steering in the MINI and an old Integra, I nearly drove the Accord off the cliff that impersonates a driveway to my house.

Towne Mini close to Buffalo fixed my '07s. Was in for loss of power and no voice recognition. Both solved by software reprogramming. Tried so far radio, CD, and nav with voice commands-all worked. Guess I need to take o look at the manual what all it is supposed to do.

FWIW, Voice Activation was completely non-functional on mine from the time of delivery. It is listed on the build sheet, but nothing worked at all.
