Okay I am just speechless right now. I just saw another OB at school this morning It wasn't just like mine hers had a black top and no stripes, she seemed to be one of those strange MINI owners who thinks its just another car . Yes I got that all from the one look she gave me. She didn't seemed amused at all she looked at me like I was an alien She didn't even park next to me :( That would have been cool, having 2 OB's parked next to each other in a college parking lot.

Ooh, I'm jealous! Ordered 2/22 and no production date, yet! Grrrr. I might catch up to you in transit, tho. By the looks of that list you're amassing, you may need to make a major roadtrip to the warm and sunny south to join the rest of us! Sunny and 70s here today. Now who's jealous???

Fantastic! Now's the tracking time ... Do you know about how long before Molly makes landfall? Which port (West coast, right)?

Caroline according to the WW website she will leave South Hampton the 10th, be in Panama on the 24th and dock in Port Hueneme, CA on 4/1. A little TLC at the VDC and a Covered Wagon ride to PDX (Rasmussen), there she will be out fitted with Mud Flaps, a Bumper Guard and Clear Bra!! I am of course going to visit the day she arrives at the Dealership!! I'm thinking Delivery should be sometime between the 7th and 12th. It's broad, but I don't want to OC about the Delivery Date, I'll be OCing all over the place once I see her for the 1st time!!

newmini

I have wanted a mini ever since i first saw one when i was 12. back then i thought it was realistic that i could save my allowance and paychecks, and have enough to buy one. lol. When i turned 16 and got my license, i had just enough to buy....a 1999 Buick Century. I was upset at first, but have learned that no teenager should have a new car for their first car. a buick was actually perfect, because its big, and safe. When i went off to college in san francisco last september, my mom sold my car. Unfortunately, while visiting a friend in florida during a school break in november, we were in an accident. We were in an suv that flipped over. My friend and his dad(who was driving) were both fine. I on the other hand, broke 4 vertebrae in my back, and severely sprained both ankles, and messed up both knees. Needless to say, i had to drop out of school in san fran, because i couldnt go back. I have been recuperating in VA at my moms house for a couple months now, and got my brace off the first week of February. And then, to my surprise, my grandpa said he felt bad about what happened, and agreed to buy me a brand new mini.

I had fallen in love with the oxyblue with white roof and white bonnet stripes on the website, but when looked at dealerships online, could not find any automatics anywhere! (i couldnt get a stick because my left knee and ankle got messed up pretty bad.) Then i went to the mini of Sterling, and what do you know, the test drive car was, just what i wanted. Only had 99 miles on it, and i fell in love! I went back to the dealership a week later, on Feb 14, and got my car! In a way, i feel like it has helped in the healing process, because i was very nervous to get in a car after the accident. But i feel so safe in my mini, and love every thing about it!

Sorry if this story is so long, but i just felt like i needed to share it. thanks for reading!

Happy motoring!!

thanks so much! i am definately enjoying it! im sure my mom is too, she no longer has to run errands anymore! im always more than happy to do them. Its also been pretty amusing to see how many people do double takes when they see my car. Our color mini is rare around va i guess, mine is the only oxy blue i have ever seen in person! its definately a head turner!

It definately can! Driving is no longer about where you're going to, but about the ride there! i have also not had any stress/road rage since i got mine, which is amazing because where i live, everyone is aggressive on the road. i looooove my mini!!!

I second that! A Mini puts the fun back into driving. After what you've been through, a little fun is definitely in order. Enjoy!

My friend, it's gonna be a long month...be prepared to have your nerves frayed. The last week is the worst. We had a tradition that I won't inflict upon you but it went something like this:

TICK.............

TOCK...........

TICK............

TOCK...........

TICK...........

TOCK............

Cruel, isn't it??? That and random discussions of ice bergs, ship wrecks, and dock workers strikes. I know....wicked jokesters!!!! Anyway, all will be well on delivery day and the loss of sanity (which you no longer need anyway) will be replaced by pure motoring euphoria. You'll see!!!

After reading about the Courage (on another thread), be glad they stayed in port an extra day or two ... Read it had some damaged cars coming back from the U.S.

Hey, y'all--found out my baby started production today. Completion scheduled for 3/20. Then comes ... tick ... tock ... tick ... tock. Won't be so bad as the 3 week waiting to start production, tho! Hopefully, I'll end up on a ship on which I can track those little red dots.

Excellent!!! I'm just glad we can still order Oxygen Blue MINIs. It'll be a dark day when it goes away, although I've heard no new rumors.
