Hyper Sports Package Question

The Hyper Sports Package is available for $1400 and includes the Sports Suspension, a $500 option. So, for an extra $900 what am I getting? It states "An aggressive Body Kit" and calls it an "Areo Kit". But I can't find any photos of it to see how it looks. Does anyone have it or a link to a photo of it? TIA

To paraphase Motoringfile, the MINI aero kit is possibly the worst option that MINI has offered. There have been a couple of photos, and I can confirm this aero kit is down right ugly. Before selecting the Hyper Sports Package, find photo of it.

It wouldn't look that bad if they would have painted the wheel arches so they blend in better.

I'm still holding out that Mini comes through for us and the actual package looks better than that.

Yes, be aware that it is NOT the JCW Aero Kit. Here's a photo...

That's shown on a Cooper. Maybe the S will be different? But yeah, that's really ugly.

the $500 sport suspension package only says thicker antiroll bars. However, the Hypersport says even firmer suspension and thicker antiroll bars. IMO, they are not the same.

The sports suspension that comes with the hypersport is the same as the "ala carte" option. It is "even firmer" than the regular sports package (because, sadly, the regular sports package has the regular non-sports suspension.) The comparison is only so it sounds like you still get plenty of firm, tight grip with the regular car. (They don't want anyone to feel left out, after all. )

Although I'm of the thought that a good accident might upgrade the appearance of the factory Aero Kit...

Are you sure? If you read the description of sport suspension it only states it comes with thicker antiroll bars, and nothing about firmer suspension.

I am pretty sure, besides, I would bet that Mini wouldn't put their stiffest suspension ONLY on that package... it would make no sense. There are no other options where the only way to get it is to buy its associated package.

See what your MA has to say and let us know. My MA explained it to me as the sports suspension and a factory-installed Aero Kit, but he thought it would be the JCW until they announced/showed the real one.

Its a rare body kit and most of the panels are still available. Lots of info here:

This is my Hypersport Mini cooper S chilli R56 184cv turbo

I just bought last monday (05/08/2019) a Mini cooper R56 S chilli black color with Hypersport kit from a man that collects mini's here in Austria.

This man bought this car directly from Minicopper factory (BMW) in Munich. This car was shown in a showroom that looked more like a museum. This car was supposed to be the example to convince customers to buy Minicoopers.

You can't do that unless you are a very special or rich person with contacts inside minicooper. And he was all of it.

The car have ALL the options you can imagine.
Glass roof, gps, xenon lights, special letter seats, special rims, etc... the car have so much optionals that new it costed ca. 43.000€.

This Hypersport aerokit was made to look good in This car.
It is now the only model in hole Austria. And I believe with this configuration the only one in the World.

I found this Hypersport kit ugly when it comes in other colors.. but in black it looks just gorgeous... this car was born to have a Hypersport kit in black.

Judge by yourselves.
