I don't like hub caps.

I like the 17" crown spoke wheels. But I don't like wheels with hub caps. I want my wheel bolts exposed. hub caps make me look mild, meek, tamed.. and so on. When I change the wheels out it's an extra step. When I retorque the lug bolts I have to take the caps off. I don't think it is very sporty to have the hub caps. The previous crown spokes didn't have them. I like the crown spokes better than the flame spokes because the flame spokes remind me of flower petals which could be seen as feminine. Maybe I can trade the wheels for a set of used crown spokes at the dealership.

Make sure they can take the new runflats. There is some discussion about what wheels fit what tires. ASK!!!!

Your dealer probably has some S-Lites (they look kind of like the Crown Spoke w/out hub cap). and I know there are folks on the forum who have S-Lites for sale (I had asked in another thread). As it turned out, when my car arrived my dealer swapped new S-Lites having Goodyear Eagle Runflats for the 16" crown spoke wheels that came with my car. I paid $600 for the upgrade to 17" and $200 for mounting, balancing, etc. Check my Gallery and get an idea of what I mean. Oh .. I should mention .. Where many of the earlier wheels are not recommended for the 2007s the S-Lites are.

Go for the S-lites.

We know they fit, you can probably find a used set cheap and they look better than the Crown Spokes to boot.

they are expensive. I am talking about the $600 option. I would love them if the crown spokes didn't have the hub cap.

This part of the thread kinda irritates me. There is no reason except greed to charge this much for mounting and balancing. My local tire shop switched my run-flats from the factory S-lights to R-99's for $60! I get aggrevated by the dealership pricing sometimes, and if I can help it, I just won't pay it!

I don't know why anyone goes back to the dealership for anything other than what's free from them, like the oil changes & warranty work, fer instance.

Amen! You'll pay at least double for any wheel ever made there. Question about the wheels: Are the Webspoke 17" factory wheels ($500 extra) hubcaps like the crownspokes too? They are the other wheel option in the sport package. I don't want hubcaps, and I could not tell in the configurator that's what they are.

Aaaarrrgggghhhh!!!

I jinxed myself answering this thread:

My MINI came today... no web spokes... CROWN SPOKES!!! I stongly dislike crown spokes. Got a $50 gift certificate for the screw up and it sounds like the dealer can get me a set of webs and tires this next week for the $500 I would have spent in the sport package addition (had the factory followed the ordered specs). Some suggestion that I might be able to keep the crown spokes as winter wheels (as they'll be used once swiched and "useless" to the dealer). We'll see.

I should have been clearer. Actually, I had changed my mind on the wheel/tire combination while the car was en route from England. they couldn't get specifically what I wanted in exchange for my 16s (I wanted last year's S-Lite wheels with Goodyear Eagle runflat all season tires) so they took a wheel/tire set off a showroom car to satisfy my whim. To me, to get exactly what I wanted was well worth $800. I don't think there was any obligation on their part to do what they did. From my perspective they did good.
