Minimum 6 weeks wait for 07 Cooper delivery

This comes from the New York Auto show

http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...VEHICLEREVIEWS

I thought this is normal considering the time it takes to transport from Oxford to the US. Reading this gives me the impression as if this is some sort of a production delay out of ordinary which is hardly the case. My order started production within days and built within a week.

I put my deposit down in Feb 06. R56 MCS built in Feb 07 delivery to West Coast took another 30 days.

I ordered on March 12. My MCS is currently sitting at the dock in Southampton waiting for a ship. Hopefully will sail on the ISOLDE, April 9. Then a trip through the Panama Canal to a backlogged VDC in Port Hueneme, CA. It looks like mine will take seven to eight weeks.

What is causing your delay, are you waiting for hyper sport or some other feature currently unavailable?

I've only been waiting a week and don't know how much longer I can stand.

Depends on your dealer allotment.
Mine will be right at 6 weeks. Ordered 3/3, production began 3/12, in Southampton 3/20, arriving Charleston today. I expect to see her next weekend or early the week after.

R56MINI i have seen you posting on these forums saying you have 115 or so days. why do you have to wait so much longer than everybody else. my car will take 5 weeks to get here. if its the dealer why didnt you just order from a dealer that could get it to you in a normal amount of time. there are plenty around the country that can do that for you. in fact i went out of state to get my first MINI because it was quicker.

I got lucky. The dealer had one with the color and options I needed/wanted. Start to finish about 3 hours.

Holy potatoes! 6 MONTHS! These forums, nor my nerves, could stand a 6 month wait. Not to mention, the Volvo is getting suspicious!

Once she realizes what is happening, I am sure she will throw a rod while blowing all 4 tires, popping all the air bags at once and sheering the fron axles while I am on the way to work one day!

I am not paranoid! I know she will be out to get me! ARRRRRRRGGGHHHHHHH!!!!! WAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

There is a dealer 20 min from my home and that's where I am ordering. The next closest one is 2 hours (130miles) away and they predicted September delivery which is two months later than the one I am ordering from.
Pacific northwest has either an abnormally high demand or an abnormally small alotment or both. I don't know how to order from mid west and get the car to me. I would rather wait 111 days (as of today) and have decent rapport with my dealership when I need work done on the car or something.

Who are you kidding? She has probably been peering through a window watching you posting on NAM. She's just waiting to get her revenge

Same here, Found mine on the 17 of March, picked it up on the 20th cuz I was busy on the 19th. Being MINI #4, I've bought two off the lot and waited for two. The waiting is not all it's cracked up to be . . .

Ahhhh, luckily there are no windows in my home office.

The last time the Wife and I discussed getting a new car, in front of the Volvo, it costs us over $6,000.00 to get her out of the shop the next day. She decided she should destroy her fuel pump. Obviously trying to starve to death. And as a follow on she blew out her shift body in the transmission. Happened at the same time. Coinky-dink? I think not.

So, we no longer discuss getting a new car to replace her when she is present. But she knows something is up. She is starting to make odd noises. I feel a very expensive trip to the Volvo dealership is coming soon.

Although I told my Wife, "There is no way in heck we are keeping that car. She is gone, no matter what!".

WOW! This is amazing to read about. My dealer, Niello Mini in Sacramento, CA, had like 35+ cars to choose from when I bought mine last week. I never thought these cars were hard to come by. Or is it that a lot of you folks have special special orders for yours? Just wondering.

When I went to MINI of Mountain View in early March they had lots and lots of 2006 MINIs. There were very few 2007 and they may all have been already sold. Some were definitely just there waiting to be picked up.

A few weeks later I wanted to test drive an '06 MCS. They said they were sold out. So, either all of the '06s I saw were MC, or they sold a lot of them very quickly.

I think NW dealers have exhausted the alotment already and that is why there are no cars in stock and that's why the waiting period is 4+ months. If I wanted a loaded cooper I could probably find one quicker though... you know, dealer ordered coopers?

I know that Global Imports here in Atlanta has many '07s in stock. Since we are a hub for Delta and Air Tran Im sure you can get a fairly inexpensive plane ticket and drive the car home
