R56 I Was Told The Car Doesn't Come With Floormats???
I have always found that nissan dealerships will bend over backwords for you, perhaps because of the behind the scenes profits.
I left the Mini dealer pissed about spending 400 on doc fees when i had negotiated 2 grand off the msrp (last month) but whatever i guess thats the price you pay for a car you love.
I went to a toyota dealership first to look at the v6 rav4 - a rocket - and showed them the edmunds pricing argued with their sales manager for 30 minutes and was told "what is this internet pricing" you mean to tell me some other company knows what we paid? it was ridiculous and lame - so when they finally came down to around the price i was thinking it turned out the model was a 2007 not even an 08! i walked immediately. thank god i didn't buy that rav.
The nissan dealers are far better, also BMW as well. I ordered a 325i in 2003 and they agreed to do it for 500 over invoice, but the manager ordered it with a manual instead of an automatic ! well they had to re-order but they did honor the price they quoted me and the automatic was 1200 bucks extra, so i suppose they took some sort of loss selling to me. then i asked for the floor mats and they didn't put up a fight.
my parents recently got my brother a yaris, the dealership through in floor mats and an after market radio since it didn't come with one - all at no extra charge.

Yeah, that "no floormats" thing is stupid. But, it's hardly unique to Mini. I think most car manufacturers do that for one of two reasons: To give the dealer an opportunity to "throw in" something for customer goodwill, or to give the dealer the opportunity to make a few extra bucks. I think whether the dealer thorws them in or charges you for them give you a pretty good idea of what kind of dealer you are dealing with. If they throw them in without you asking, you most likely have a good dealer. It goes downhill from there.
