Any MC horror stories?

If you read my other post, you know I'm looking for a car I can put a lot of miles on.

Anybody have a MC that was just was a complete pain in the *** as far as reliability goes?

Search my old threads about the Flying Squirrel (rest his soul).
Topics: "3-2 Squeal" and "Weeping washer jets"...

The MC will definitely put a smile on your face while you commute. In the mornings I can't wait to get out there in traffic with my Mini and I'm in anticipation of getting off work all day long so I can drive my Mini back home!

I got nothing...car's rock solid. Disregard the temp readings above...you won't have to mess w/ the turbo. Frankly, I've read of no chronic Cooper issues. There were some software upgrades last year for Check Engine Lights (an emissions glitch) and some replaced DSC sensors (part upgraded) but that's all been cleared up. Coopers can get very good gas mileage if you're into that sort of thing. The improved torque at low revs is a big improvement, too. That 6th gear is nice for highway cruising, too...first gen Coopers didn't have that.

My only horror story was on my travel yesterday from DC to NC yesterday I noticed a paint chip in my lower front bumper! Oh yeah I also averaged 45mpg at 65mph!

all my horror stories inolve me waking up and realizing it was just a dream. most of which revolved around someone running a light, hitting me, or coming back to my parked MINI finding it a victim of a bad hit and run accident.

Agree. My MC has been flawless. Some had the check engine light and DSC sensors, I had neither. Although I had a preemptive SW update done to prevent the CEL.

I dig the car; good for roadtrips, Home Depot runs, the DOG, and hauling friends.
It's fun having an R53 and an R56, but the R53 really sucks the juice. And I have to borrow a car to haul some things...

Errrr, well then. Go to the stock problems arena and sniff around.
I love my funny little car but I'd love it more with twice the warranty period...
