I Was Told The Car Doesn't Come With Floormats???
That's what my sales guy told me. Picked up the car today and noticed there is no carpet. Sales guy said that's how the cars come and I have to pay extra for them. Just to be sure before I go nuts on him, I went back and searched the option list on edmunds, there is nothing about basic carpet being an option. Please educate me if I am wrong.
So just a correction, yes, I do mean the floor mat (carpet or rubber). |
This is a joke, right? or do you mean carpet mats?
|
Doesn't come with Mats...
Spend the $55 on the rubber ones is your cheapest option... some people get them for free...most don't. |
I assume you mean carpet mats. Few freebies from your dealer. I too paid extra to the tune of $160+ for JCW mats.
|
He's got to be talking about mats.
I prefer the rubber mats anyway. My gas-pedal-foot's heel tends to wear through carpet mats pretty quick. |
I'm one of few lucky ones that don't have to pay for floor mats. It depends on the dealer and your MA.
|
As in all BMWs, you don't get carpet mats. :)

Make them give you the rubber mats for free.
|
Or buy them here from a NAM user or vendor. Mine came with Rubber ones and I bought a set of carpet ones in the marketplace. Use them in the summer when the top comes down and the shoes come off!
|
I have both carpet and rubber floor mats....
|
I made rubber mats part of my original negotiations. You're going to have to pay for them.

I must be lucky, mine came with the mats..
|
My dealer (Mini of Peabody) threw in the Rubber Mats for free.
|
Yeah, I think it definately comes down to your dealership and MA. I asked my MA to include them in with the purchase of the car. (She mentioned to me that they traditionally do not do it.)

That's just stupid. Even Toyotas get carpet floor mats for free.

My new Lexus did not come with carpet mats standard. Neither do they come standard in Jaguar's, Aston Martin's or Ferrari's. The Mini keeps good company. :)
|
My car didnt come with a roof!
|
When talking to my MA about my car, she said I could have carpet or rubber mats at no additional cost. However, another dealer I was talking to wanted to charge for everything extra. Some people...

My Saturn didn't come with them, and I don't expect any car manufacturer to throw them in for free.
If I do get mats it'll be because I prefer the look of the mat over the original carpet, so it'll have to be different, not just something that matches the underlying carpet. I got matching carpet mats for my current car and didn't see the point - after 10 years the mats didn't get very dirty and the underlying carpet didn't exactly stay perfect anyway due to rubbing, etc., so as a protective option I don't see the point. Some mats do look nice with certain interior color combos, but I won't get something that matches the carpet since that's just adding something that wiggles around the floor and becomes a minor annoyance without notably improving the looks. Just my opinion. |
I prefer the rubber mats.
In my out going car I got a few yards of ribbed rubber floor mat and cut them to shape. They lasted 14years and still going strong when I sold the car. |
I have the rubber mats and love them. They were not "thrown in" for free, but I did use part of my accessory credit toward them, so they were partially free:grin: . As others have said, it completely depends on the dealer.
|
My dealer recommended against the rubber, as if they get scuffed or marred, as by shoes, it won't wipe off/wash off, where that wouldn't be an issue with carpet.
|
They through in carpet mats when I purchased the car...Just recently I got some JCWs for 110.00 at the dealership.

My dealership gave me the carpet mats, but I much prefer the rubber mats. |
