"Where is dennisd" made me laugh out loud in the office! Hahaha...I'm a bit concerned about kimmc's new transvestite..I mean transmission. Mine grinds a bit too (the transmission).

I'll run a query in the database to see our male/femaleness statistics. Boy, am I ever glad I created this thing...it answers all of life's mysteries!

Paint Chip Repair Ideas?

OK - She's had Rosie all of 2000 miles - and already it's got a couple of paint chips. Anybody know where someone can get Nightfire Red Touch-up paint?

I was going to ask the same thing. Someone backed into my bumper and left a chip. I thought I'd try my dealer but I haven't gotten around to calling them yet to see if they had touch up paint.

I've seen pics of a few results with touchup paint, and this color is extremely difficult to match! I've also heard a few anecdotal reports of paint samples available (esp. in the USA)....try searching some of the forums on here, because this is where I had seen this before.

the dealers are supposed to have the touch up now. I haven't gotten to mine to finally get some. I think auto-visuals may have it too...but the factory I can only guess would be a better match. I think what a lot of people do is get the factory paint, and then get a kit for application from auto-visuals, etc. (even if it comes with extraneous paint)

I'm statistically on the mark too. Just about 6 months and hit 6K today. At least until recently 12K was supposed to be "normal" for one year, right (y'know, like lease mileage terms, etc)?

Romi's at 4200 miles with no chips yet.

Touching up metal flake paint is always a problem.

Skuzz, you're falling behind in the motoring duties!!! I got CarJoy on June 6th and have almost 6000 on her (with no chips BTW).

I have a 4.6 mile commute (down from 29.6). I used to listen to books on tape on the way in but now it isn't worth it. I don't get enough of the story!

My commute these days is mostly 0 miles (workin' from home). But it's a good excuse to be the best hubby ever and drive her to work--10 miles round trip. And by her, I mean drive my wife, not my car, wink, wink.

Your Wife has a steering wheel and gas pedal? Dang! I got the basic package. No one told me about the options until it was too late!

yea, that wasn't so clear...I meant that the reason I do it is to get to drive the car, not to be nice and spend an extra 15 mins with my wife. No, wait, dangit! Another Freudian slip!!! Well, I love 'em both equally, is that fair?

I applaud you for your restraint in refraining from any headlight jokes!

Three months and 5,600 miles for me! I'm trying to keep it down, but a few early road trips really added up. It's been awesome so far.

I had been chip free and then last week I got a scratch a small dent and a chip in a three day span. I don't think the touch up paint will look perfect but it will keep the gray under my bumper from showing.

I am still here, haven't been visiting as much because of that stupid "stop running that script" message I still get when I switch pages. As far as the name thing, mine hails from my home based business-Shaklee(the world leader in health and wellness)-which I love as a 2nd source of income. I use the phrase "luv-shak" for the business and just thought it fit for the car as well. It does seem to put my wife in a good mood when she gets to drive it...

Hey Carjoy - wish my wife had a small commute to work - but it's more like 25 miles one way - 3 times a week (works from home the other two). That plus the fact she's in love with driving again really racks up the milage. As for the chips - Atlanta highways are famous for destroying a cars exterior. As for those who got the nice car with the plain interior - well - I always say she got two leather recliners - a world class entertainment system, and wrapped it all up very nicely in a cute package on wheels!
