As long as you vary the speed and stop a bit more often, you should be fine for the break-in.

Oh, I hadn't heard that. Ask MINI said I was scheduled for the second week of April production (ordered mid-Feb). Guess I'll just have to wait and see if it happens.

 

Minimobile, I was told by my dealer the standard transmission for the MC would not be put into production until 4/1. The same time for the Nightfire Red. If that is accurate information, then your timeframe could be right.

You might be the first NFR (Nightfire Red) owner on NAM. Seems there are few of us on the board. Talk about yer exclusive club. LOL!

 

Something I have been playing with for the "Nightfire Red" owners. Suggestions anyone?

I figure while I am waiting, I might as well be productive. Have a couple of other things Iam working on (some animation) as well. But these are not ready for preview yet.

I hope this color is still around this time next year.....I thinking about unloading my R50 for a new cooper..... and this color is a BIG factor in me doing this!!!!

 

It is a nice color. Anyone have any updates on the status or your Mini?

 

I have a manual Cooper on a boat headed this way. She was produced the week of March 12th. Manual transmissions were supposed to be available the beginning of March--and I guess that was true!

 

Nice image, but it is too small to be readable in thumbnail size. Look forward to seeing what else you come up with!

 

It is part of a bigger plan right now. I have the first 300 frames of animation done and have around 600 to 900 more to do. Also have the audio roughed out.

The roughs are taking a couple of hours to render. I did one full pass on the first frame last night to get an idea of how long it will take. The first frame took over 18 hours to render at 320x240.

For the signature, I plan on taking the logo from the pedestal and using it. I can enlarge it then. I have one more thing to add to it for that purpose.

 

I just called MINI and I am confirmed for Week 16 production .... meaning it will be built sometime between 4/16 and 4/21.

Hoping it will only take 4 weeks after production to get to the east coast. Does that seem accurate?

 

My car was finished on March 27, hopped aboard a ship on March 31, scheduled to arrive NY on April 9 and then about a week for processing and shipping to my dealer. If everything goes right it will be 3 weeks from completion to delivery. 4 weeks seems like a safe number. There are plenty of things that can slow it down.

Can't wait to see Nightfire Red! Still wondering if I should have gone for that color. I defiinitely would have if it was available for the S.

Crikey, Skuzzy! Have you spoken to a human being lately? The automated system was still telling me "no confirmed date".

The tag is looking pretty sweet! Now if only we could see some more pictures of this thing in the real world and figure out the color exactly! Very soon, methinks.

 

I call MINIUSA everyday.

And I call the dealer twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday.

Hehe, just imagine what the whine levels would be if I did not have as many distractions as I do?

I am a patient sort. My Wife is a good measuring device letting me know when the whines have reached unacceptable levels. She issues this hint thing, "Honey, if you do not stop whining, I will have to hurt you!".

 

At least she is more subtle than my wife ?!?!

 

LOL! My Wife is a good egg. Been together for 13 years and could not be happier. We are both creative types (she is a successful commercial interior designer) so we keep each other in check and when the creative flood gate opens, we get out of each other's way.

This morning I got so wrapped up in doing the tag, I forgot to take her coffee to her. First time I have ever done that. She was very nice about it, while I felt really bad about it.

 

Just called AskMINI and they told me production started yesterday!!!!

So, it should be done next week and ready to get on a boat to the West coast. Woohoo!

 

I think I am going to have to do something special for the first person to get thier NFR Mini. It certainly will not be me. So as an impartial person waiting patiently (somewhat ) on his Mini, I have time.

Since yours has to go to the west coast, maybe the east coasters in Week 16 still have a fighting chance! <Insert horse race sounds here>

 

Wish I could join the race, but it will be fun to see which one of you get their Mini first. I have an idea for a special tag for delivery #1 of NFR at NAM.

 

I just heard from my MA that mine will be 'finished' by the 16th. Assume this means I'm still week 16.
