R56 The Official Nightfire Red Owners Club
We should hopefully be taking delivery of our Nightfire Red Cooper on Monday or Tuesday. She's being prepped at the dealer and we're both antsy. She'll be the younger-sister edition of our same-colored FJ Cruiser, white roof and all!
I need from you:
car's name
roof color
stripes (y/n) & color
Transmission type
Packages
Options (trim color, seat types, any other options)
Welcome, but hang on..this is a crazy bunch once we get going.
The excitement grows! T - 3 Hours until we take delivery! The Cooper has yet to be named, but here are the specs.
Roof and Mirrors are white
No Stripes
Manual Transmission
Premium Package
Sport Seats /w Cloth
Bluetooth/iPod
All Season Tires on the "ugly" rims.
It's the wifes car, we'll be heading over there to pick it up and then I'll be coaching her on driving it home. (She's very new to a manual transmission).
We've also got a K&N here to pop in (had them on all the vehicles), and I've ordered a 4" stub antenna from Alta Motors but it hasn't arrived yet. (Annoyed that they waited all of last week before shipping on Monday. Grrrrr)

Alright, she's safely home! Fab at MOFC in CT was fantastic! We'll be heading back soon though, the front lights are aimed about 10 feet in front of the car so night driving is out. Aside from a missing detail job, everything else is great!
Here are the pictures of her beside her sister! My apologies for the photos, it was dusk and the light was horrible. I'll get something better later.

Ok...Bubbles & I went storm chasing last night...and I got an awesome pic. It might be difficult to see, but the MINI United 09 Mirror Caps are on the car. I need to clean him up really well before I take better pics. Photo to follow. Also in my gallery.
Great photo, Dennisd63.
My MINI is being built right now (it should be done by August 27th - but since the next boat to Los Angeles leaves on August 28th, I doubt it makes it to the dock in time - bummer!
My MINI looks a lot like yours, except I went with the 15" six-spoke rotator alloy wheels. I can't wait to get it!

Hang on...this delivery isn't easy!
Hi Dennis -
My MINI will be one of the last 09's - I think production of the 2010 models starts in early September and mine will be finished by August 27th. I ordered my MINI on August 1st thinking it might get here in time to qualify for the Cash For Clunkers program, but that isn't going to happen. Even without the 2-week shutdown of the Oxford factory during the first two weeks of August, it would never have made it in time since the program ends on Monday. Still, I am glad I ordered when I did - I will probably drive my MINI until the wheels fall off, so the production year is not all that important. I could have bought a car off the lot to get the $4,500 rebate, but none were close to what we wanted - and I would much prefer being happy with the perfect MINI than taking a car with options I didn't want (and lacking things we really wanted).
We have not named our MINI yet. My wife and I have had some ideas, but none seem right. Maybe when we actually have our baby in our hands a name will pop into our heads - besides, at this point I am not sure if it will be a boy or a girl!
My MINI is a Cooper hardtop without the sunroof. It is, of course, Nightfire Red - with a Black roof and mirror caps with black bonnet stripes. It has the automatic transmission, cloth sports seats, Convenience Package, Cool Weather Package, automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel and center armrest, and 15" six-spoke rotator alloy wheels.
I am resigned to the long wait for our baby to arrive but, like you said, it isn't easy!

It's been a few years since I got my car...mine was the first NFR in Canada - there was I think 3 or 4 in the USA before I got mine! We didn't know what the color was going to look like because none had been manufactured when we ordered ours! No pics...no nothing but the configurator! Talk about painful? We can relate!
Once you get your car, post the pics and CarJoy will send you a pressie once I've turned on your "vested status"
Depancho, b.radfriends - we haven't heard anything about your vehicle lately....are you still waiting?

As rare as Nightfire Red is on a MINI, I am beginning to think the 15" six-spoke rotator allow wheels are even rarer. After visiting the MINI dealers in Portland and Seattle (Fife), I did not find a single car in their inventories with those wheels. Why would that be the case since the 6-spoke wheels are a no-cost option? Am I the only person who likes them? Did I make a mistake by ordering them on my MINI? If I end up not liking the 6-spoke wheels, the dealer said I could switch them for the stock 15" five-star spooler wheels after I get my MINI.
Welcome aboard RayRatt! I think you made a great choice with the wheels. I went with the default wheels because I knew I would be replacing them with black rims that I liked. Still waiting for the spare change to get that "mod" done but it will happen one day.
As our fearless DBman says, I'll send you the club signature badge once you get all the particulars to him. I go through the pain of waiting with each new NFR all over again! Hang in there.

Oh yeah.... Do you promise to be good from now on?
