How long . . .

Well, I placed my order from Long Beach Mini about a week ago.

Just called ASK-MINI and it says the car is scheduled for production with no confirmed date.

How long will I suffer before the car is on its way?

The dealer said May is the latest but is there any chance I can expect it sooner?

There are so many variables that go into how long it takes to get your car. Mine took less than 30 days but that isnt the norm. Hopefully you should have a production date soon, that will give you a bit more accurate of an idea but then there is shipping....

First you need to know what production week your car is programmed for. Your dealer should be able to tell you that. Then figure around 6-8 weeks for delivery in California. Average time from Europe to North America is 6 weeks to the East coast (which is why Trinity's came quicker... Brunswick GA is a regular stop for RoRo ships).

MiniMad--when do you expect it? That seems awfully long.

To answer your question, daffodildeb, not soon enough!!!

First off, by the time I ordered my MCS in November, Mini had already stopped making 2006 models, so I was told I would have to wait until January for a 2007 model. Okay, fine. I can deal with that. Then, because the 2007s are a second generation, I had to wait for the navigation system to be available.

Well, here I am in March without the car I ordered five months ago. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I've been pretty patient, but now that I know the nav system is available, I am absolutely dying. Not to mention I drive everyone I know crazy because I REPEATEDLY say, "I want my freakin' Mini Cooper!!!"

Please, don't pull out the violin for me I know there's someone else on the boards in the "November Club," too! We need to initiate some kind of support group for these boards. I honestly can't take much more waiting. At least I'll be prepared for the nine-month-wait for a baby one day. I can tell my kids I waited almost as long for my "baby" Mini as I did for them

I try to remember, good things come to those who wait (and wait, and wait)

Another thing to consider is how many people are on the waiting list for that paticular dealership. If the dealer has already filled the quota for this month and maybe additional months, you may have to wait awhile. Once you're good to go for that months quota, you should have a production number within a week and then depending an where you're at in the list you'll get a build week somewhere in that month.
What I did was put down a deposit last July(?) to get near the top of the list. Then when I was able to order, I delayed until the SAT/NAV was ready. Since I was still near the top of the list, I was able to get a production number the first or second week MINI started building them for the US market. It's been a long wait and I should see delievery near the end of April or beginning of May.
This whole process is so different from anything I've done before, you know, go to the lot, pick your car, drive home.

I too plan on ordering from Long Beach but have yet to go up and talk to an MA. May I ask how much your deposit was?
