Intrusive DSC

For those of you who are familar with the DSC acting up when you are taking off in previous MINI's, is the DSC in the 07's as big a PIA as the old ones?

I had read that the sw has been updated and it is better tuned and not as intrusive as in the past, but have no experience yet. Have ordered it as an option with my MC w/6 speed manual so that I'd have the hill assist feature. You might try mini2.com and see if the folks in Europe have any first hand experience.

Two reviews that I've read that specifically mention it (MC2 and Top Gear), say no...

...I got a chance to push the car quite a bit, but I turned DSC off during that period of time, so I can't directly answer from experience.

Hill assist is a great little function. Even in flat Houston, it helps out in parking garages, etc.

I can say for sure that the DSC on the 07 is much better tuned. I can't recall activating it more than once and then, it wasn't as severe as my 04. I keep it off except in the rain on the 04. With the 07, I would only turn it off for some seriously spirited driving.

I've only compared ASC+T on 06 to DSC on 07. And on the 2007 I almost never noticed it kicking in, even when the roads were a bit wet. A big improvement imo.

Every Mini & MINI R50 > R56 has hill assist standard. It's the lever between the seats. You just pull it up on a hill to hold the car. And you thought that was justa parking brake.
