Nice! I plan to get one installed in my MINI as well, sometime down the line. Still on the fence between leather/alcantara or all leather.

The JCW steering wheel is hawt for sure, but the way I have my steering wheel positioned, I can BARELY see the top of my tach.

Isn't the JCW wheel a little smaller in diameter than the stock wheel? If so, I think it would totally block my view of the top of my tach...

Hmmm, valid point which I didn't think of. Same for me that the standard steering wheel blocks the top portion of my tach as well. Really annoying as it irritates me not to see the entire thing, but my current seat/steering wheel position is perfect for comfort, visibility and posture. Hopefully I can find a used MINI on the dealer lot with one to see if it impedes my view of the tach any further.

I have the JCW wheel and I set my wheel pretty low. The entire top 1/3 is blocked by the wheel. Once I get the JCW shift light this should solve this problem.

PS the JCW wheel is about 1/2 smaller than stock.

Stock = 14.5" outside and 12.0" inside
JCW = 14.0" inside and 11.5" inside

Thanks for the measurements! For me it's not the biggest deal as I have the auto trans. Even so I just really like seeing where the revs are at. I plan to have all my performance and exterior mods done before the JCW wheel anyway, so I have some time to ponder it.

P.S. Digging the new sig, very nice.

I'm almost 40 and probably shouldn't be saying something like this but that car is SIC! or sick or whatever the kids are saying.

Yeah I'll attest that after 40 words like "sic" have to be used wisely. Oh and you might have to be sagging when you say them!

I'd love to see what the vinyl looks like up close on that car.

Yes... it is smaller ... and it does block the top of the tach. But the tradeoff is worth it!

Here's my 2-week old MCS JCW. She's got 400 miles on her so far.... only driven when the roads are mostly clear... I love winter but this one is killing me!

I don't like the UJ rearview mirror cap... it's got to go. It's very slab-like and would look much nicer if it was more rounded. The union jack would lie across it so much better.

Here's a not-so-good night driver's eye view photo of the JCW wheel vs tach. Note the flash shadow. My view of the tach's numbers is not obscured, but the red lit tip is covered around 4k. I drive with a fairly extended arm, too, so keep that in mind. Wheel is worth it, tho.

I picked the leather over the alcantara after checking them both out as new and getting a chance to see the alcantara on a used '06 JCW that was for sale at Prestige MINI in NJ... that wheel looked somewhat beat up ... the alcantara material looked more frayed than the new one that I saw. It was fatter tho and had a nice feel... that was pretty cool. But the JCW leather wheel is great and will always be sharp... glad I made that decision.

Nice, thanks for the pic! Everyone says the wheel is simply amazing. I may have to just pop the $500 and see what all the fuss is about!

Really depends how you sit / angle the wheel. In my situation, I miss 3K to 6K on the tach. Still love the wheel though!
