R56s on the Dragon

Are any other R56 owners planning on attending Mini's on the Dragon this year? I would love to see other '07's up there!

MCS R56 MY/b
I was planning on going unless I hate the Bridge Spokes and have to change the whls out immediately, and if I can not find accomodations that are reasonable and close.

Definately start working on accomodations. There have been waiting lists most of the year at the hotels but there are always campgrounds and hotels further out from the Dragon too.

bamatt - I believe there is an MY MCS from Atlanta who is coming

I'll be there with my all Astro Black MCS. Lowering springs and 18's are already on their way! You can find me at the slightly-famous "korner kabin" at Fontana Village.

Cheers,
Ryan

Anyone think it'd be a fun idea for all the R56's get together for a 1st annual "R56 Photoshoot/Meet&Greet"? This would also give the classic Mini's and R50/53 people a chance to check out "the newbies" in a fun group setting, talking with the owners and getting real-world impressions and feedback!

Great idea, Rye! Where will you meet? You could meet in the parking lot in front of where registration used to be...

That's a great idea Clo, but how about someplace more central, like in front of the Adventure Center, during a time where there isn't anything planned there? Nice-n-n-the-middle for anyone wandering about that wants to stop by! We should look at the schedule to see when a good time would be....

How about Friday the 4th, right after the main Parade? Say, 11am at the Adventure Center. Does this massively conflict with anything? I'm just throwing that out there!

The reason I suggested gathering at the old Fontana Village registration area lot is I kind of figure there could be vendors in the parking lot area in front of the Adventure Center. But, 11 AM in front of the Adventure Center sounds like a good plan, Rye, until we hear something different.

Did you get MMv.3, yet?

Ahh I forgot about the vendors there; but that said, they're not taking up the whole lot right? We could meet up on the south side of the lot [or whatever side they're not on] to keep from being in the way. I don't think there's going to be a huge group of R56's, but it'd be cool to have a good turnout!

I haven't picked up "Astro" yet, he's 3 weeks out still, floating somewhere in the Atlantic right now!

Hugs,
Ryan

Its great to see all the excitement! As a committed open motorer I'm not even looking at all your innovations until '09 . . . and then who knows if I'll have the dough, but it is great to soak in your exciting vibe! No Dragon for me this year either as my transcontinental journeys are child oriented (Alaska, LV and Philadelphia). [Anyone else find they fly less and MINI more?] Have a great time and don't let the insecure bring you down! By the way, do you MinI in the Mountains?

Thats a great idea! So little is known about the cars so far, it would be nice to get together and compare notes.

Yea I figured it would be a cool idea for everyone to have a sort of Pow Wow and compare Motoring notes!

So far we have 6 R56's:
Trinity07 [DS/B MCS]
designerMINI [MY/B MCS, needs convincing!]
Ryephile [Astro Black MCS]
locobrit [Lightning Blue/White MCS]
maxxboy [PW/B MC]
Gabe [w/media long-term'er]

Who else!?!

I don't know..I'm getting my MCS in April...Does anybody else feel reluctant to drive their mini out there before the break-in period?
It's 2200 miles for me 1 way.
I guess I'm just being paranoid.
