spare key/ fob

What happens if you lose your standard key/fob assembly or you lock it in the car somehow. Do they give you a spare complete key/fob assembly. Does the door have a doorlock on it that you can use the key alone in it.???

The user manual indicates that you get a mechanical duplicate key, which opens the door normally.

By my understanding, the whole purpose is that you can NOT lock your keys in your car beacuse of the feature where if you within 5 feet, it unlocks the doors.

Speaking of fob I was glad to see and feel that the size is not too big. The early pictures made it seem gigantic. It also seemed to go in and out of the slot well.

Now if you didnt get the comfort access system, you really have to make sure you push the key ALL the way in, i think theres a little click, before you hit the Go button. When i test drove the R56 2 days ago, my MA didnt push it in all the way and got confused why it didnt start. She was obviously embarassed haha. But if you have the comfort access system you can put it on the slot, or just leave it in your pocket, or anywhere in the car and hit the Go button to have it start. You have to press the clutch [in the manual] or the brake [in an auto] to have the engine start, or if you just hit the GO button with out doing that, the radios and all will turn on but not the engine.
