I have my new production number. It will be another 7 to 8 weeks to get my MCS with MSFW, and now 17" wheels.

A quick look at the calendar indicates I'll get my car approx March 27th or April 2nd.

Wow. That's actually pretty fast. They must be bumping you to the front of the line after the mishap (rightfully so). My car is done and awating transport. I was told 8 weeks until it arrives on the west coast.

Yeah I'm very happy with the way my dealer handled the situation. I did get bumped to the front of the list according to the sales guy. It really is the least they could do.

I don't think they have a way to push up the delivery. All car with similiar options start production the same way, so depending on your configuration, either you can get lucky or just have to wait till your turn comes.

On the east coast, 6wks is the typical wait between placing the order and delivery - might be longer for the west coast.

Either way, I'm having to wait an additional 4 weeks to get my car. I really wanted to be among those folks that get the first batch, but now I won't. I think Mini will be giving us something to make it up to us - not sure yet what that will be though.

Has anyone been promised anything yet (other than mats )?

No, I haven't gotten any word on any bonuses for having a messed up order. I think the west coast takes longer mainly because of the whole Panama Canal thing....

I've reordered mine too. Hopefully this next one will actually have the "Multi-function sport leather steering wheel" or something to that effect! LOL

I have my production # also. I guess we'll have to live vicariously through the lucky ones that take delivery in two weeks. I'm expecting to get the car in early March though....April would cause me to pull hair out and reschedule my chassis-dyno/baseline run agenda, which would make me cranky!

Mine is now Scheduled for Production with a Feb. 13th estimated completion date. YAY, but I'm also not holding my breath anymore!

edit: WOO HOO I have a VIN# That means the car is somewhere through the production line right now!

Got my number today

I got my production number today. Scheduled for week 10 (first in March). Decided to add an extra month and change the order to manual MC over automatic I had ordered last Nov. Manual became available 3/07, so I had to add an extra month of wait to the order. Expect mid to late April. Added a few other goodies for the 1350 I saved on the automatic. (Hi-Fi, oak interior, sport seats) Did check to make sure option 249 (multi-function) was on the vehicle inquiry!!!

I have received a new production number, but the car is still at stage one. My MA told me that the car should arrive in May. That seems like a very long time to wait. Why should it take three months to get a car to me?

I written to Mini USA expressing my frustration, but somehow don't have a lot of hope for results. I also asked if Mini has any plans to offer some sort of compensation for those of us whose orders were fouled up. Again, I am not very hopeful. The future will tell the tale.

Grumpingly,

Joe

Yeah... I'm still on order no prod date. It does seem like bad customer service not to offer us anything for our inconvenience.

If everyone is simply going to take thier car "as is" or re-order and wait months, what is their incentive to compensate you?

My MC has been sititng in a parking lot in NJ since 1/10. It is one of those built without the MFSW that was ordered. We are now one week away from the 2007's arriving at the dealer. No one from the dealership has ever contacted me to let me know there is a problem. Are threy simply hoping I won't notice? If they act like this before they have your money, think of how you will be treated after they have it.

If their attitude is "take it or leave it", I am going to leave it. MINI is not the only car for sale in America.

--->punchinello: unfortunately, just about ALL dealerships in the world, no matter what the make or model, will try to screw you over given the chance and an ill-informed customer. My advice is, if you want a MINI, set yourself up for success and call your dealer and discuss your concern of the car on its way not being aligned with the purchase contract you're interested in. If the MFSW is a deal breaker, reorder another MINI exactly what you want. Yes the time delay sucks, but not as much as "settling" for a specification you don't really want.

$0.02,
Ryan

I too got MFSW'ed and had to re-order or I could have been driving my Mini as early as next Monday.

On a different thread I read that Mini will be releasing the official line on this today. What could it be?

When I log into my Owners, the wheel is still listed as just "Sports Leather Steering Wheel" but my MA and ASK Mini have assured me that this time it is being built with the MFSW. Do I have a reason to worry?

Mine is also finished with production and awaiting transport. *twiddles thumbs* My little test drive today will have to tide me over for another 3-4ish weeks.

So my new new new mini with MFSW has begun production. I drove the R56 this weekend. I loved it. So since it started production 2.19 when will I get it?? I'm estimating march/early april. It seems my first new new mini was done in january around the 7th or 8th if I remember properly.

Haha.. I don't know if I'll be able to not be tempted to buy the original car without the MFSW...

Fjork, I wouldn't blame you for taking it without the mfsw. But after test driving the r56 on saturday, I KNOW I'll be getting LOTS of tickets if I don't have cruise control. So, I'm going to wait a few more weeks. My re-built mini is waiting at the port of exit.

But I'm quite annoyed with Mini at their inaction on this issue with either rushing the re-orders or doing something to fix the error.

Unknowingly messing up the order is one thing but knowingly ignoring those whose cars were built incorrectly is another.

I found out mine got on a ship Sunday...though it doesn't show up on WW's website. My initial order didn't get shipped through WW either, FWIW. I figure it takes about 2 weeks for the boat to get across, and another week to get through customs, so I'm anticipating March 15th-ish for delivery, hopefully.

to repeat the question. The MFSW does not show in the Owners lounge... do I have anything to worry about.
