Red Lounge Leather Interior

Here's one image I put together from this past weekend at the U.S. Press launch for the R56.

Also, you can read some of my impressions on the R56 interior over on MotoringFile

Great photograph.

I'm curious: having seen both elements in person (but not the same car), do you think the red Lounge Leather seats would work with the wood dashboard treatment? (Or would the reddish hues clash...?)

Wow. interesting thought. I'll have to play with photoshop a little when I get home in order to visualize that one. Could be interesting.

I for one (no secret) LOVE the Redwood Red interior (I must... 'cause I ordered it and it's an additional $1900!!! Yikes! ). I think however it does need to be in a car with the Anthracite Headliner to really "work" properly. But, opinions, and all...

With the Red Lounge Leather I would spec
  • Piano Black Dash
  • Chrome Interior
  • Anthracite headliner

I love the red leather but I think I love the woodgrain dashboard more...

I wish they offered the Lounge Leather in a tan or brown (would look beautiful in a British Racing Green with wood dashboard, no?), but oh, well...

BRG with Carbon Lounge and English Oak would look very, very classy IMO.

Well the Tuscan Beige would look nice, too in a BRG/WHT car with chrome/wood interior. hmmm...

I agree but the Lounge Leather looks quite a bit more comfortable (esp. based on sitting in R53 cars with similar interiors) which is definitely a priority for me.

I just ordered what you guys had discussed - Redwood Red Interior MCS with English Oak dash and Anthrazit Ceiling - packaged in Astro Black exterior.

Should come out nice - will post pic at the end of March

Someone at mini2 mentioned seeing that combination on the street recently (in London I believe).

The sidewalk is brown interior that is looks quite like the red lounge leather. It comes in BRG, as does the red lounge leather.

The Redwood Red leather is a different shade than the red lower dash and door pads. The non-leather parts are actual red; maybe a slight bit darker than the Chili Red color but it is red for sure. The redwood color to me looks almost reddish brown especially in the sun. Since all the interior panels come in the matching color it is a lot of Redwood to look at but with the right color exterior it looks sharp.

The black leather (non-punch) is simply gorgeous. The white piping actually complements the standard interior trim in silver instead of the chrome line. Also the leather is a bit firmer than glove leather for wear ability but way smoother and softer than the BMW standard Nappa leather. Top quality leather IMO.

BRG and Redwood Lounge Leather do look great. This is a classic combination used in 50's and 60's British Sports Cars. The only difference is that MINI uses a metallic paint.
