fjork duf, are you going to the roll out party at East Bay Mini on 2/23? If so I might bump into you there!

What's breaking my heart is the fact that my car was finished on 1/16 and in port on 1/17. Here we are in the month of February. It's still there and every day since then the ASK MINI phone has told me the same thing over and over, "your vehicle is at a port awaiting a shipping vessle, there's no shipping information at this time." I had expected to take delivery some time around launch time. Now, who knows. It's just sitting there in that atlantic ocean air environment rusting and corroding away.

That excited feeling is slowly but surely drifting away. Sad!

Living in the Southwest I'd have thought my car would have sailed on the same ship as yours. Don't know why it didn't.

Update 1/3 - Finally, my car is in transit.

Yeah I definitely plan on being there. I don't know if I'll be able to hold out for my re-ordered car with the multi function steering wheel.... I think I probably will crack under the pressure.

The other cool thing is that the new car will also have the audio package, but I'd have to wait for late april early may

That really suck! well at least you will have the audio package. I might make the roll out night at East Bay, although I dont know if I will just hold off to save the excitment for when my car actually gets here!

I plan on being there too, although I have yet to RSVP. I haven't ordered yet, I'm waiting on SAT/NAV and Audio Pack. Hope to meet you all there!

VPC timeline to Dealer?

Still trying to get a handle on how long for the cars to get from the VPC to the dealer. I'm going to be gone for 9 days from Feb. 24th so I'm pretty sure I'll need to wait till I get back in early March for pick up. They better not sell it out from under me!!!

Usually a week - if you have your order in, they won't sell it from under you.

Anyone figure out how to track the ship yet?

OK, I'm probably dead wrong but my best guess to a call sign for our ship is A8IP5. It's the only one I've seen on sailwx.info that has the correct trajectory. It started off on Feb 1 off to the west of England and is now in the Carribean. If it tracks to the Panama Canal tomorrow and then in to the Pacific towards California then it might be the one! Maybe...

I have the tracking info saying it is due in Panama tomorrow, and California on the 19th.

The West Coast takes a lot longer! The guys on the East Coast already have the cars at the VDC...

I hope I get mine by March 01 or so!

Tracking info?

Can you share how you are tracking? Website and other info would be appreciated. Thanks.

The mid pacific takes a lot longer! The guys on the west coast will have their cars while mine is on another boat ride

I hope I get mine by March 15th or so!

(I can handle as long as you've cracked the ECU by the time mine gets here!)

Yeah - I'll be sure to have that done by then .

I am using the info in the 1st gear thread in General MINI, how to track - it is a sticky thread.

Use your VIN and go to the WW site (which will tell you which boat you are on), then use the SailWx.info site to look at the call sign.

Hope that helps!

Well, it appears it isn't A8IP5 - that boat is still hanging around the islands (unless are cars are taking a vacation ).

Bummer - I really wanted to watch it cross.

Oh well - here's to the 19th !

Panama in the rear view mirror....

Well kids, according to the WW site, the Asian Emperor left Panama today.
Which means, we're in the home stretch!
Oh so soon....

ARGH!!! Now the ship is running a day early!!! Man.. If I bought 17" wheels seperately it wouldn't cost only $600.00 would it?

I'm seriously now considering taking the car without MFSW. ARGH.. I just am tired of waiting! Car #2 is still "On Order"

Ok my MA said the car would be getting built on 2/19 how ironic. I won't take the original car guess I guess it costs $2200 to get the same wheels after the fact instead of specing them at the factory.

Same here, that was a pleasant albeit long cruise! I'm sure my MINI has thoroughly enjoyed it with friends around. It's been totally cool knowing that I was in the same production week and ship with Randy. Will monitor with interest the r56 mods he is planning. Anyone have any news as to whether our cars are actually at the VDC or are they still at the docks?

I was on the Asian Emperor, I called my MA yesterday at Eastbay Mini in Pleasanton, he said it can take between 5-10days from when the ship arrives in port to when it reaches the dealership. Anyone got different news from this?
