Order Tracking - Owners Lounge

When i placed my order I specified the premium and Sport packages. When i look at the order details in the Owners Lounge they are missing. Is it "normal" for the info on the OL to be inaccurate?

On mine the description is not complete. Call Ask Mini and they can confirm that the order is placed right - they can see more detail.

Yes, this is normal. Up until the car actually started to be built, the website had the color wrong. And only until the car was on the boat did the options finally appear. Congrats on your new MINI!

Normal - slots are assigned to each dealer and cars are pre-specced. When you order, your car replaces one in the dealer's slot. After a few days, your MINI specs will show correctly in the OL (takes a few days to update).

Under what circumstances could a car be declined upon delivery, just out of curiosity?

(What made me think of it was "What if the car arrived with the wrong specs?" and then I figured there must be people who decline the car at the time of delivery.)

Well, I don't know if this is a widely accepted rule, but my salesperson at the Mini dealership said this... If I didn't like the car when it arrived I did not have to accept it. This came up because I was concerned about ordering exterior paint colors and interior options sight unseen. For instance, the Red Lounge Leather could be awesome or an eyesore once you see it in person. It was also stated that it would depend on the car being ordered since they thought mine would be easy to sell if I did not accept it. However, if you ordered some bizarre combination (yellow ext with a red interior for instance) this would not be the case. But, like I said this might not be a common rule among dealerships.

My MA said if I didn't want it he'd certainly be able to sell it. Since I believe I'll be happy I don't expect to be turning my baby down. Worse case, I'll look at the other cars that get delivered -- since they'll be by the time I get the call --- and see if I like them any better than my order. Highly unlikely - but it keeps me from worrying about every detail.

Ah yes. The ever-popular Ronald McDonald Mini. With white roof and bonnet stripes, of course.

Info on Mini OL - and declining delivery

My MA @ Towne Mini in Buffalo, NY said the same thing about declining delivery - unless it is a crazy configuration, it shouldn't be a problem. At worst, they will hold the deposit till the car is sold. Now think about how hard it will be to sell it in Feb to a customers who just walks in and needs the car right away

Another thing about info on Mini OL, specifically in the tracking section. It appears that there is a delay before accurate status is displayed. For example, my MA told me that my car was in production on 1/12 but the status did not display that till the 15th. Either way, Mini will be holding the cars back till 2/17, so tracking online doesn't really make much difference, does it?

True it really doesn't make any sense to track a MINI at this point. Any in production now will be sitting around for an extra week or so until the launch. But I still check every day and will probably track it's ocean voyage 'cause it's fun.
