White Turn Signals - Were they N/C on the MCS...

.. up until yesterday? I just noticed the price of my car went up $100. I could've sworn they were a N/C option on the MCS.

They were. But they were a $100 on the downloadable list of options. My dealer is going to honor the n/c price.

These are standard on the MCS in the UK (optional on the MC)

They're showing up as $100 on my Vehicle Inquiry Report. However there were some other discrepancies in pricing (web spokes didn't increase the cost of the sport package, for example) so I'm not too worried, actually.

While my contract with my dealer is not time specific I do think the price is. I would think most of ours are the same. I guess a dealer could just say they were unable to aquire a car with "free" clear taillights and not honor a the contract, if they really wanted to ...

My MA said the white signals were always an option -- I don't think that is correct. He also said the Web spokes were always an additional charge on the Sport PKG. I asked him to check with someone else. I'm going to call MINI myself -- he didn't seem to be aware of some other things for the New MINI -- like the fact that front fogs were standard on the S. He basically insisted and I had to have him check the Configurator.
The moral of the story -- educate yourself -- this is a new model MAs might not know them as well as the old one. That is perfectly understandable but as far as I'm concerned I have limited time to make changes to my order before it is too late so now I need accurate info not guesses.
I'm glad this site is here. It helps to get info from other orders who have different MAs.

Flame spokes were £70 extra (wiith the UK Chilli pack) £280 without.

Webspokes were around £300 more than the flame spokes.

Webspokes were not included in any package.

You're right, they were free. Now they are $100. I guess MINI is going to live by the motto: "Prices subject to change without notice!"

I guess I waited too long to add this for $0 -- now I have to figure out if I want it for $100. The cost of a few tanks of gas.

I'm getting a Yellow S so I'm trying to decide whether the yellow indicators will be more subtle compared to other exterior colors. I tend to go for uncomplicated looks rather than having details that stand-out.

To be honest - Do it at order, just make sure you remember that it still looks crap (IMHO) until you change the bulbs !!!!! (front, rear and side)

Later changes (UK £100) cost more already!!

Be sure that you are using the correct terminology. White turn indicators (front fender) are and always have been NO cost on the MCS. But you guys are using the term turn signal (these are the tail lamps) white turn signals are and always have been a $100 option

Planetguy -- I am sure that option (White turn signal) with that picture said ($0) up until last week sometime.
I confirmed this yesterday with AskMINI. The change was made because it had been a mistake on the configurator with the S model. The base model always had $100 as the cost.

But the fender indicator is always white on the MCS, you are buying both for the $100 on the MC but only the rear indicator for the MCS

Configurator Wrong

There were several mistakes on the configurator, one of which was the white tail lights being free. Another was the piano black dash - also showing as free.

There is the side indicator by the front doors I think that also changes color with the option.

Any ideas on what color are the stock turn signals? The euro spec ones are orange... are the U.S. spec ones red or orange? can't really tell from pictures -- since some of the picture are actually euro spec cars; other pictures are kind of hard to tell -- and the MAs don't know.

I don't like those red turn signals -- I've always thought orange turn signals make more since to distinguish from brake lights. But recent MINIs (e.g. '06 models) have red turn signals... Without knowing I went with the stock tail lights. If the stock turn signals turn out to be red, hopefully they'll allow a retrofit kit.
