DICE or OEM iPod

so some improvements have been made to the ipod integration for the R56 especially with the sat nav but still the question remains in my head. What are the pros and cons of OEM vs. the DICE connector which i believe has full integration into ID3 tags, and sat nav buttons as well as steering control. anyone got any input? anyone with an R56 have the DICE?

R56 has a completely different head unit and I very much doubt that DICE is compatible. In any case even if it were, DICE is sold in the USA only and R56 is not here yet so no one has that combination.

Over in Europe it seems the only R56 iPod interfaces currently available are OEM adapter, aux input, and FM transmitter.

The R56 OEM iPod adapter does look good at least on Sat Nav, but expensive:

I've had the OEM and it is useless! I have the dice and let me tell you the difference is night and day and SOOOOOO much more user friendly. The Dice unit also is VERY easy to install.

The OEM iPod adapter is like an Eetch-A-Sketch with one ****. Very, very remedial.

The R56 iPod adapter is not yet available - how are you so sure it is very, very remedial?

I missed the R56 part. SO the answer would be I have no experience with that Ipod adaptor. For the 06 and earlier the Dice Ipod adpator is perfect!

Please look at the thread regarding the new ipod adapter. Its getting very positive comments, and on the sat nav it is particularly awesome. I'm very excited to get mine!
